SEIKO 150M DIVER REF.2205-0760

COMMENT

COMMENT

The Seiko "150m Diver," manufactured in 1977, is a diver's model with a boy's size that is especially valuable to collectors and watch enthusiasts due to its limited production. The black dial has a rich, subtle luster that adds to its charm.

The case retains sharp edges and shows no signs of wear, making it an exceptionally well-preserved piece. The rotating bezel operates smoothly, allowing for accurate time measurement. The dial is in excellent condition, with no visible signs of aging, while the hands and indices remain untarnished, and the lume is still intact.

Despite its compact size, this piece exudes a solid and substantial feel. With a calendar function and rotating bezel, it remains highly practical and continues to shine as a timepiece that can still perform its intended role today.

The 1960s marked a period of significant development for mechanical wristwatches, and Seiko advanced to the point where it competed with and surpassed the rest of the world in both precision and mass production. At the same time, the "electronification" of watches was progressing rapidly. In December 1969, Seiko released the world's first quartz wristwatch, signaling a major shift from mechanical to quartz watches.
