TISSOTやOMEGAなどにエボーシュを提供していたLEMANIA。ユニバーサル・ジュネーブのポールルーターを彷彿とさせるフラットベゼルとツイストラグが特徴的な、自動巻きモデルです。スクリューバック構造を採用しており、当時の売り文句であった耐磁性や防水性能を表す刻印がケースバックに見られます。ダイヤルはプレーンなホワイトで、ペンシルハンドとクサビインデックスにはカッパーカラーが採用されています。

製造から70年が経過しているケースには、保管に伴う小傷こそ見られますが、大きなダメージはなく良好なプロポーションを保っています。ツイストラグのエッジはシャープで、フラットベゼルもエッジが効いています。ダイヤルにはヤケがほとんどなく、ミントコンディションを維持しています。ミニッツやレターのプリントにも劣化は見られず、針とインデックスは美しい輝きを放っています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

全回転式の自動巻きスモールセコンドモデルは非常に希少です。製造ブランドはパテック・フィリップ、オメガ、ジャガー・ルクルト、そしてレマニアといった限られたマニュファクチュールにのみ許された存在でした。クラシックでありながら扱いやすく、秀逸なケースのパッケージングから、名門レマニアの技術力をひしひしと感じさせる逸品です。

1884年の創業当初から、 クロノグラフを手掛けるエボーシュメーカーとして活躍。1940年代には自社名を冠したミリタリーウォッチを製作し、イギリス軍やスウェーデン軍に軍用時計を供給しています。 特にイギリス軍には陸・海・空軍すべてに同社のクロノグラフが採用されるなど、信頼度の高さを証明しています。また、エボーシュメーカーとしては、1932年以降にOMEGAなどのムーブメントの供給元にもなっています。 1969年の、アポロ11号月面着陸の際にアームストロング船長の腕に巻かれていたオメガの＜スピードマスター＞の機械は、＜LEMANIA＞が手掛けていたことを忘れてはいけません。

LEMANIA, known for supplying ébauches to brands like TISSOT and OMEGA, produced this self-winding model featuring a flat bezel and distinctive twisted lugs, reminiscent of the Universal Genève Polerouter. The watch features a screw-back case, with engravings on the case back highlighting its anti-magnetic and waterproof capabilities—selling points of the time. The dial is a simple white, complemented by copper-colored pencil hands and wedge indices.

Despite being over 70 years old, the case has only minor storage marks, with no significant damage and maintaining its excellent proportions. The edges of the twisted lugs are sharp, and the flat bezel retains its defined shape. The dial shows minimal aging, remaining in mint condition, with no deterioration of the minute markers or lettering. The hands and indices still gleam with their original brilliance. This watch has been fully serviced and is ready for use.

Automatic by full rotation models with small seconds are exceedingly rare. Only a select group of manufacturers, including Patek Philippe, Omega, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Lemania, were producing such pieces. This watch, with its classic design and ease of use, stands as a testament to Lemania’s technical prowess, highlighted by its beautifully packaged case and superior craftsmanship.

BRAND

Founded in 1884, Lemania established itself as a prominent ébauche maker specializing in chronographs. By the 1940s, it was producing military watches under its own name and supplied timepieces to the British and Swedish military. Lemania chronographs were trusted by the British Army, Navy, and Air Force alike. Additionally, since 1932, it became a key supplier of movements to brands like Omega. Notably, the movement inside the Omega Speedmaster worn by Commander Neil Armstrong during the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing was crafted by Lemania, a fact that underscores the brand’s historical importance.
