IWCの1970年代デザインを象徴する、スクエアクッション（TV）ケースのオールドインターです。樽型Cラインらしいボリュームを備えつつ、実寸はIWCのカラトラバ系と同等の約35mm径に収まり、見た目以上に扱いやすいバランスが魅力です。ダイヤルはブルーのサンレイにバーインデックス、ペンシルハンドという王道の構成。中央へ向かう光の表情とホワイトプリントのコントラストが効き、端正さの中でダイヤルの存在感が際立ちます。搭載ムーブメントはCal.8541B。IWC独自のペラトン方式による両方向巻き上げを備え、堅牢さと実用性を両立した名機です。“B”はハック機能付きの仕様を示します。日付は針を往復させて送る「往復送り」に対応し、日常の操作性も優れています。

使用感はごく僅少で、当時のヘアラインと鏡面の切り替えが良好に残り、エッジが立ったシャープな印象です。ケースバックは保管に伴う小傷が見られます。ダイヤルはパーフェクトで、ブルー特有の経年変化が出やすい条件下でも色味の崩れがなく、水を張ったような艶感が保たれています。針とインデックスは曇りがなく、光を強く反射します。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

An Old Inter from the 1970s, defined by IWC’s square cushion (TV) case design. While it carries the bold volume typical of the tonneau-shaped C-line aesthetic, its actual diameter measures approximately 35mm—comparable to IWC’s Calatrava-style models—resulting in a balance that wears more comfortably than its presence might suggest. The dial features a blue sunray finish with bar indexes and pencil hands, a classic configuration. Light radiates toward the center, and the contrast of the white printing sharpens the composition, allowing the dial to assert itself within an otherwise restrained design. The movement is Cal.8541B, equipped with IWC’s proprietary Pellaton bi-directional winding system, celebrated for its durability and practicality. The “B” designation indicates the hacking function. The date can be advanced via the back-and-forth hand-setting method, offering practical everyday usability.

The watch shows only minimal signs of wear. The original interplay of brushed and polished surfaces remains well preserved, and the edges retain a crisp definition. The caseback displays minor storage marks. The dial is in exceptional condition; despite blue dials often being prone to aging, the color remains stable, retaining a glossy, almost water-like sheen.
