OMEGA SPEEDMASTER Ref.3313.50.00

COMMENT

COMMENT

The Omega Speedmaster Ref. 3313.50.00 is a bi-metal chronograph featuring a 39 mm stainless-steel case paired with an 18 K yellow-gold tachymeter bezel. The black dial hosts three sub-registers and houses the self-winding Calibre 1152 movement. While the tachymeter scale upholds the sporting heritage of the Speedmaster, the gold bezel lends a refined, luxurious touch that sets this model apart within the line.

The case retains a crisp silhouette with minimal signs of wear, and the gold bezel preserves its original luster and contours. The black dial’s print, indexes, and hands remain sharp, emphasizing both legibility and the robust precision expected of a mechanical chronograph. The two-tone metal bracelet is in outstanding condition, showing little to no stretch and maintaining a solid, comfortable feel on the wrist. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

At 39 mm, this Speedmaster offers an ideal balance of versatility and presence. The combination of an automatic chronograph movement, classic black dial, and gold-accented bezel gives it a sophisticated modernity that transitions seamlessly between casual and formal settings. More than a continuation of the Speedmaster lineage, it stands as a refined everyday companion that embodies both utility and elegance.

Although now synonymous with space exploration, the Speedmaster was originally conceived as a pure motorsport chronograph. It was also the first wristwatch in the world to display a tachymeter scale on the external bezel rather than on the dial. In 1959, the model received key updates—including a black aluminum bezel and the adoption of Alpha hands—to enhance visibility. When NASA sought a chronograph capable of withstanding the extreme conditions of spaceflight, the Speedmaster prevailed over all competitors. Famously, it accompanied the Apollo 11 crew during mankind’s first moon landing in 1969, forever securing its place in horological and aerospace history.
