キングセイコーの最高峰44クロノメーター、1965年9月の製造品です。Ref.4420-9990となった後期の製品は、ブロック体のChronometerがこの製造期ならではのディティールです。ダイアルはシルバーのサンレイ、ソリッドなバーインデックス×ドーフィンハンドのクラシカルな意匠。ノンデイトですのですっきりとしたシンメトリーなフェイスが魅力です。竜頭にW SEIKO、ケースバックのメダリオンは獅子です。

ケースは過去に研磨歴の見られない、素晴らしいプロポーションです。当時のファセットを残しており、鏡面とヘアラインの切り替えが美しいです。小傷は少なく、瑞々しさが感じられます。ダイアルはエイジングが見られず、シルバーカラーがはっきりとしています。針やインデックスはわずかにくすみが見られますが、肉眼では気になりません。当店にてオーバーホールは済ませていますので、ご購入後すぐお使いいただけます。

キングセイコーは1961年8月に亀戸の第二精工舎にて開発され、グランドセイコーに次ぐ高級腕時計としてセイコーの時計史において欠かすことのできない名品腕時計となっています。

This is a January 1966 production example of the King Seiko 44 Chronometer, the highest-grade model in the King Seiko line. As a late-period piece bearing the reference 4420-9990, it features the block-style “Chronometer” script unique to this production phase. The silver sunburst dial is paired with solid bar indexes and dauphine hands, creating a classically refined aesthetic. The absence of a date window preserves a clean, symmetrical appearance. The crown is marked “W SEIKO,” and the caseback is adorned with the lion medallion.

The case retains its original proportions with no signs of past polishing, preserving the crisp transitions between mirror and hairline finishes. Surface marks are minimal, and the watch retains a fresh, well-defined presence. The dial shows virtually no ageing, maintaining a clear and vivid silver tone. The hands and indexes display a touch of patina, though nothing distracting to the naked eye. Fully serviced by our watchmaker, it is ready for immediate use.
