イエローのインナーベゼルが印象的なRef.166.066、通称“ビッグイエロー”。個性あるカラーリングと堅牢な構造により独自の人気を誇るシーマスターです。Cラインケースは丸みを帯びた立体的なフォルムで、ケースメーカーは防水性能に優れたスーパーコンプレッサーケースで知られるEPSA（Ervin Piquerez S.A.）製。ムーブメントを浮かせ支える点はIWCヨットクラブと同様で、耐衝撃性に優れています。ケース上面には放射状のヘアライン仕上げが施され、ベゼルはフラットで幅の狭い構成。シルバーのリネンダイヤルは麻のような繊細なテクスチャを持ち、光を複雑に反射します。インデックスは中央にブラックを挟み込み、視認性を高める機能的なデザインです。

ケースバックに販売当時のシールが残った素晴らしいコンディションです。付属の革ベルトとバックルは当時のオリジナルです。革ベルトは遊革が一つなくなっています。ケースは細かな使用傷こそ見られますが、オリジナルのプロポーションを完全に維持し、エッジが立った引き締まった印象を与えます。リネンダイヤルはミントコンディションです。針やアプライドインデックスは美しい輝きを保ち、製造から半世紀を経てもなお鮮やかな存在感を放ちます。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

Cal.565はオメガが最も完成度を高めた時期の代表的ムーブメントで、日付早送り機能を備え、耐久性・安定性・仕上げの美しさのいずれも秀逸です。Ref.166.066は1971年にCal.1002搭載のRef.166.092へ移行したため、製造期間が短く希少性の高いモデルです。独創的なデザインと技術的完成度を併せ持ち、オメガの探求心と美学が凝縮された逸品です。

Ref. 166.066—known as the “Big Yellow”—is distinguished by its vivid yellow inner bezel. With its bold color scheme and robust construction, this Seamaster has earned a following of its own. The rounded C-line case presents a sculptural profile and was manufactured by EPSA (Ervin Piquerez S.A.), the case maker renowned for its Super Compressor water-resistant designs. The suspended movement construction echoes that of the IWC Yacht Club, contributing to enhanced shock resistance. Radial brushing decorates the upper case surface, while the bezel remains flat and relatively narrow. The silver linen dial, woven with a texture reminiscent of fabric, reflects light in a complex manner. Indexes feature a black inlay at their center, reinforcing legibility through functional design.

The caseback still retains its original sales sticker—an exceptional detail. The accompanying leather strap and buckle are period originals, though one keeper on the strap is missing. The case shows minor signs of wear consistent with use, yet fully preserves its original proportions, with crisp edges lending a taut impression. The linen dial remains in mint condition. Hands and applied indexes retain their bright luster, continuing to project vitality even after half a century. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Cal. 565 represents one of OMEGA’s most accomplished periods of movement production, featuring a quick-set date function and excelling in durability, stability, and finishing quality. As Ref. 166.066 transitioned to Ref. 166.092 with Cal. 1002 in 1971, its production span was brief, enhancing its relative scarcity. Combining distinctive aesthetics with technical refinement, it stands as a concentrated expression of OMEGA’s exploratory spirit and design ethos.
