本機はマットブラックダイヤルのMark 1に分類される個体で、「ROLEX」の“E”の中央横棒が長い、いわゆるロングEの書体が特徴です。2.1ミリオン台のシリアルはMark 1の後期にあたり、マットダイヤル期らしい大きな三角形のGMT針を備えています。ダイヤル下部は「SWISS - T < 25」表記。ベゼルはブルーとレッドが自然に退色したペプシインサートで、Ref.7836フォールデッドオイスターブレスレット、280エンドリンク、70年2期のクラスプが組み合わされています。

ケースは非常に良好なプロポーションを保っており、ラグのラインやケースサイドの厚みもきれいに残っています。ベゼルインサートはブルーが内周から外周にかけて淡く変化し、レッド部分はより柔らかな色味へと退色しています。目立つ傷が少なく、ヴィンテージらしい雰囲気を備えながら、状態の良さが際立ちます。マットブラックダイヤルは良好なコンディションを保ち、夜光は濃いパンプキンカラーへと変化しています。針の夜光もダイヤルとよく調和しており、全体として整合性のある表情です。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

ロレックスがパン・アメリカン航空の国際線パイロットのために開発したGMTマスターは、異なる場所の時刻を把握できる機能を備えたロレックス唯一のパイロットウォッチ。GMTマスターは、エクスプローラーやサブマリーナーほどの人気を獲得していなかったが、2007年のステイタス性を押し出したモデルチェンジを機に現行モデルを代表する人気スポーツモデルとなった。この人気が引き金となり、旧型、ヴィンテージモデルともに再注目され、特に鮮やかなカラーリングの2トーンベゼルに人気が集中しています。

COMMENT

This example is classified as a Mark 1 matte black dial, characterized by the so-called “Long E” Rolex signature, where the center bar of the “E” in “ROLEX” is extended. Its 2.1 million serial places it in the later period of Mark 1 production, and it is fitted with the large triangular GMT hand associated with the matte dial era. The lower part of the dial is signed “SWISS - T < 25.” It is paired with a naturally faded blue and red Pepsi bezel insert, a Ref.7836 folded Oyster bracelet, 280 end links, and a clasp dating to the second quarter of 1970.

The case retains excellent proportions, with well-preserved lug lines and strong case side thickness. The bezel insert shows a soft gradation of blue from the inner to outer edge, while the red portion has faded to a gentler tone. With few noticeable marks, it has an appealing vintage character while standing out for its overall condition. The matte black dial remains in very good condition, and the luminous material has aged to a rich pumpkin tone. The lume on the hands harmonizes well with the dial, giving the watch a cohesive and well-balanced appearance. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
