ホイヤーを代表するクロノグラフ、オータビア Ref.11630です。1970年代らしいボリュームのあるCラインケースに、ブラックとオレンジの鮮明なコントラストから通称「オレンジボーイ」と呼ばれる人気のダイヤルを組み合わせています。ベゼルは分と時間の目盛りを併記したMH（Minutes／Hours）タイプ。3時位置に30分積算計、9時位置に12時間積算計、6時位置に日付表示を備えた、機能的で均整の取れたレイアウトです。

ケースはNOSの素晴らしいコンディションで、ケースからラグへと連続する輪郭とエッジが明瞭に残っています。なかでもベゼルは特に艶やかで、ブラックの色味と目盛りのプリントも鮮明です。マットブラックダイヤルとインデックスの夜光にはほとんどエイジングが見られず、製造当時の質感を維持しています。針の夜光には一部わずかな黒変が見られますが、全体の印象を損なうものではありません。こちらはNOSですが、弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

ムーブメントは、自動巻クロノグラフの先駆けとなったCal.11の後継機にあたるCal.12を搭載。左側にリューズ、右側にクロノグラフプッシャーを配置した独特の構成は、この時代のオータビアを象徴する意匠です。鮮烈なオレンジのクロノグラフ針とインダイヤルが、当時のモータースポーツや航空計器を思わせる機能的な表情を演出します。各部の状態が良く、1970年代のホイヤーが持つ大胆な造形と色彩を存分に味わえる一本です。

COMMENT

The Autavia Ref.11630 is one of Heuer’s defining chronographs. Its substantial C-shaped case, characteristic of the 1970s, is paired with the popular dial known as the “Orange Boy,” distinguished by its vivid black-and-orange contrast. The MH (Minutes/Hours) bezel carries scales for both minutes and hours. A 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock, and a date display at 6 o’clock form a functional, well-balanced layout.

The case remains in outstanding New Old Stock condition, with the continuous contours and defined edges from the case to the lugs clearly preserved. The bezel is particularly lustrous, retaining its deep black tone and crisp scale markings. The matte black dial and luminous indexes show almost no aging and preserve their original appearance. There is slight darkening to part of the lume on the hands, though it does not detract from the overall impression. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

The watch is powered by the Cal.12, the successor to the pioneering Cal.11 automatic chronograph movement. Its distinctive arrangement—with the crown on the left and chronograph pushers on the right—is a defining feature of Autavia models from this period. The bright orange chronograph hand and subdial accents give the watch a purposeful appearance reminiscent of period motorsport and aviation instruments. Exceptionally well preserved throughout, it offers a clear expression of Heuer’s bold forms and use of color during the 1970s.
