1960年代後半に登場した61GS、Ref.6146-8000です。自動巻キャリバー6146Aを搭載し、毎時36,000振動で作動。曜日・日付表示を備えています。シルバーカラーの文字盤には、ブラックのインサートを配したゴールドカラーのバーインデックスと、中央に黒いラインを持つ針を組み合わせています。3時位置のデイデイト表示は立体的なフレームで囲まれ、文字盤下部には「HI-BEAT 36000」の表記が見られます。ケースは裏蓋に「GOLD CAP」と刻まれたキャップゴールド仕様です。

ケース表面には使用に伴う擦り傷が複数見られ、ラグの先端やケースのエッジには金色仕上げの摩耗が確認できます。ケースの稜線やラグの立体的な形状は保たれていますが、鏡面部分にも細かな傷が見られます。文字盤は比較的均一な色調を保ち、インデックスや針も整った状態です。ムーブメントは弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

61GSは、グランドセイコー初の自動巻10振動モデルとして1968年に登場しました。高振動による精度の追求に、曜日・日付表示を加えたCal.6146Aは、当時の技術進化と日常での使いやすさを反映しています。ハイビートの表記を備えた文字盤とキャップゴールドケースが、1960年代後半のグランドセイコーらしい仕様を伝える一本です。

Introduced in the late 1960s, this Grand Seiko 61GS Ref. 6146-8000 is powered by the automatic Cal. 6146A, operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour and equipped with day and date displays. The silver-tone dial features gold-tone baton indexes with black inserts, paired with hands bearing central black lines. A raised frame surrounds the day-date display at 3 o’clock, while “HI-BEAT 36000” appears on the lower half of the dial. The gold-capped case is identified by the “GOLD CAP” engraving on the case back.

The case shows several scratches from use, with wear to the gold finish visible at the tips of the lugs and along the case edges. The case lines and faceted form of the lugs remain well defined, although fine scratches are also present on the polished surfaces. The dial retains a relatively even tone, and the hands and indexes remain in good condition. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Introduced in 1968, the 61GS was Grand Seiko’s first automatic movement to operate at ten beats per second. Combining the pursuit of precision through a high-frequency movement with practical day and date displays, the Cal. 6146A reflects both the technical progress and everyday usability of its era. The “HI-BEAT 36000” dial and gold-capped case are characteristic of Grand Seiko production from the late 1960s.
