現在では、ジュエラーとして名高いCARTIERですが、まだ懐中時計が主流だった1904年に本格的な腕時計を製作したのはカルティエが最初。＜ヴァンドーム（Vendome）＞はルイ・カルティエが馬車でパリのヴァンドーム広場を通りかかった時、車輪の取り付け部分を見てその形を閃いたことから命名されました。

BRAND

Although Cartier is renowned today as a jeweler, it was Cartier who pioneered the creation of authentic wristwatches in 1904, when pocket watches were still prevalent. The name "Vendome" was inspired by Louis Cartier, who, while passing through Paris' Vendome Square in a carriage, was struck by the shape of the carriage wheel's mounting, leading to the naming of this distinctive model.
