SEIKO 5 SPORTS SPEED TIMER REF.6139-7012

COMMENT

The Seiko Speedtimer 6139 is one of the first automatic chronograph watches ever manufactured in the world. Among the various case variations of the Speedtimer 6139, this particular type is characterized by its robust C-line design. The dial transitions from black at 12 o'clock to white at 6 o'clock, creating a brown gradient effect.

The Caliber 6139B, housed within, was innovative for its time, featuring a vertical clutch and column wheel, showcasing the advanced technological prowess of Japan. The groundbreaking feature of switching date, day, and language via the push of the crown is remarkable. It is hailed as a masterpiece, known colloquially as the "61 Chrono," representing Suwa Seikosha's first domestically produced automatic chronograph watch.
