力強いルックスで抜群の存在感を放つRef.2914-6。ダイヤルは、オメガが黒文字盤において時計史上最も早く開発したとされるマットダイヤルを採用しており、機能性を追求した証といえます。レターとラインは下地出し、ルミナスは掘り込み仕様です。針は中期型のドーフィンハンドに、矢じり型の夜光が付いた秒針を備えています。スムースベゼルに太く長いラグを組み合わせたケースは、シンプルかつスポーティーな印象です。二重蓋は耐塵性と耐磁性を考慮した構造で、堅牢性に優れたタフな造りとなっています。ブレスレットは、日本ではキャタピラーと称されるフラットリンクブレスレットRef.7912が付属し、エンドリンク6、クラスプコード62/1が備わっています。  

ケースは素晴らしいコンディションを保っており、エッジがしっかり立ち、ラグのしなやかなラインも健在です。ダイヤルはインデックス周りに経年変化が確認できます。日光下ではより顕著に感じられますが、実際には写真ほど目立ちません。針には経年変化によるくすみが見られますが、それがかえってレイルマスターの無骨な雰囲気を高めています。ほどよくエイジングした夜光が全体のデザインと調和し、ヴィンテージならではの魅力を際立たせています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

COMMENT

The Ref. 2914-6 exudes a commanding presence with its bold design. The dial features one of the earliest matte black finishes developed by Omega, a testament to its focus on functionality. The lettering and minute track are done using a negative relief technique, while the luminous markers are recessed for a seamless design. The hands are the mid-generation dauphine type, complemented by a broad arrow seconds hand with luminous fill. The case, with its smooth bezel and robust, elongated lugs, offers a simple yet sporty aesthetic. Designed for durability, the double caseback enhances both dust and magnetic resistance, ensuring exceptional toughness. This watch is fitted with a flat-link bracelet, Ref. 7912—often referred to as the “Caterpillar” bracelet in Japan—complete with No. 6 end links and a clasp stamped 62/1.

The case remains in outstanding condition, with sharp edges and well-preserved lug contours. The dial exhibits aging around the indexes, which is more noticeable in direct sunlight but appears subtler in person. The hands have developed some patina over time, enhancing the rugged appeal of the Railmaster. The aged luminous elements blend harmoniously with the overall design, accentuating its vintage charm. Originally designed for railway workers and professionals working near electromagnetic fields, the Railmaster holds a special place among Omega’s sports models. Alongside the first-generation Speedmaster and Seamaster 300, it is considered one of Omega’s “Big Three” sports watches.
