1965年に生産された国産初の150m防水ダイバーズウォッチ、Ref.6217-8001。通称「62MAS」として知られ、国内外で高い評価を受ける名作です。バリエーションが複数存在しますが、本個体は1966年から67年にかけて約1年間のみ製造された、ビッグリューズ仕様にイルカのケースバックを備えたタイプです。こちらは1967年2月に切り替わる直前にあたる、イルカの刻印が深い第二世代のもの。ケースは角ばったCラインで、ベゼルは両方向回転式、裏蓋はスクリューバック仕様。グレーのサンレイダイヤルが深みのある印象を与えます。ムーブメントはCal.6217Aを搭載し、手巻き機構を持たない全自動巻き。リューズを一段引くことで日付のクイックチェンジが可能で、日常使いにも適した実用性の高い一本です。

ケースはエッジが明瞭に残されており、打痕のない素晴らしい状態を保っています。ベゼルはわずかな使用感があるものの、全体として清潔感のある美しいコンディションです。ダイヤルはミントに近い状態で、くすみや傷はほとんど見られません。針は光沢を保ち、視認性に優れた仕上がり。針・インデックスの夜光塗料はやや色味の変化こそありますが、黒く劣化した個体が多い中では理想的な保存状態といえるでしょう。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

Produced in 1965, the Ref. 6217-8001 holds the distinction of being Japan’s first 150-meter water-resistant dive watch. Widely known as the “62MAS,” it is a revered model that commands respect from collectors both in Japan and internationally. While multiple variations exist, this particular example is a rare version manufactured only for about one year between 1966 and 1967, featuring the highly coveted large crown and a dolphin caseback. The engraving on this piece represents the second generation of the dolphin motif, notable for its deeper etching, dating just before the transition in February 1967. The sharply contoured C-line case is fitted with a bidirectional rotating bezel and a screw-down caseback. Its grey sunburst dial adds depth and visual sophistication. Powering the watch is the automatic Cal. 6217A, which lacks a manual winding function but includes a convenient quick-set date via a single crown pull, making it highly practical for daily wear.

The case remains in outstanding condition, with well-preserved edges and no major dings, maintaining its original silhouette. The bezel shows minimal signs of wear, contributing to a well-kept and clean overall appearance. The dial is in near-mint condition with virtually no visible aging or blemishes. The hands retain their luster and provide excellent legibility. The luminous material on both hands and indexes has aged slightly in tone, but compared to many examples that have darkened considerably over time, this piece has been remarkably well preserved. The watch has been fully disassembled and professionally cleaned by our team.

For vintage dive watch enthusiasts, details such as the unguarded large crown and dolphin-engraved caseback make this a grail-worthy piece.
