CARTIER LM PASHA TIMER REF.R4020

COMMENT

BRAND

COMMENT

The dial is finished in a matte white tone and features a peripheral minute track that enhances overall legibility. The hands are styled in a lozenge shape, a design often seen in the 1940s, while the indexes combine baton markers with Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock for a balanced layout. Just outside the numerals, luminous-filled dots offer additional nighttime visibility. The case is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel, contributing to its bold, tool-watch aesthetic characteristic of water-resistant models.

The case is fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel, adding a bold presence in line with its water-resistant construction. A screw-down crown protector is secured with a chain, a signature feature of the model, which is unscrewed to access the crown. The crown itself operates conventionally: one stop advances the oversized date display, while the second adjusts the time. Powering the watch is a high-performance automatic movement based on the reliable ETA caliber.

The watch is in excellent condition, showing minimal wear. The case back retains its original protective sticker, and the engraved bezel markings remain crisp and well defined. The dial is free from the darkening or discoloration often seen near the bezel area. The blued steel hands retain their original luster, while the applied indexes show only faint signs of aging, preserving their reflective brilliance. The minute track and Arabic numerals remain sharply printed. Fully serviced by our workshop.

Originally developed to meet wartime waterproofing demands, the “Pasha” line was first introduced in 1943 with a round case design featuring a screw-down crown protector secured by a small chain. This innovative solution offered both reliable water resistance and a distinctive visual identity. The design has since become a hallmark of the Pasha series. In 1995, the concept evolved into the more practical and modern Pasha C in all stainless steel—an enduring example of Cartier's blend of functionality and elegance.

BRAND

While now synonymous with high-end jewelry, Cartier was among the very first to develop true wristwatches at the dawn of the 20th century—well before they became mainstream. As early as 1904, the brand began crafting timepieces for the wrist, paving the way for generations of horological innovation that continue to shape Cartier's legacy today.
