COMMENT

肉厚ケースに軟鉄製二重蓋で磁力への耐性に特化したインヂュニア。インヂュニアの中では珍しい、パイパンダイアルを備えています。＜寄り目＞と呼ばれるデイト表示が特徴的で、カレンダーディスクが内側によっているIWCらしいデザインを採用しています。針は鏡面仕上げされたドルフィンハンドの時分針と、細くまっすぐな秒針です。多面カットのクサビインデックス、強調されたドット夜光は1950年代までのフェイスの要素が感じられます。純正のお魚リューズ、デベソバックルを備えたゲイフレアー社製の純正ブレスが装着されています。

ケースは傷が少なく元々のプロポーションをよく残しています。ツールウォッチですが、使用はほとんどされてこなかったのでしょう。シルバーのパイパンダイアルは入水の形跡が見られず、当時の状態を保持しています。インヂュニアはエイジングにより雰囲気を大きく変えている個体が多いため、ミントなダイアルは希少です。針やインデックスは艶感が十分に残っています。ルミナスは色味の変化こそ見られますが、形に崩れがなく美しい表情です。傷のない全体的に高評価なコンディションです。

This is an Ingenieur with a robust case and a soft iron double case back, specially designed for resistance against magnetic fields. It features a rare "bare dial," devoid of any markings except for the distinct "squint eye" date display, showcasing IWC's characteristic design with the calendar disk positioned inward. The hands consist of a mirror-finished dauphine-style hour and minute hands, accompanied by a slim, straight seconds hand. The multi-faceted wedge indices and emphasized dot luminous elements evoke elements from the faces of the 1950s. It comes with an original "fish" crown and a Debe buckle buckle-equipped Gay Frères bracelet.

The case retains its original proportions with minimal scratches, suggesting it has seen little use as a tool watch. The silver "bare dial" shows no signs of water damage, preserving its original condition from the time of manufacture. Given that many Ingenieurs undergo significant aging, a mint dial like this one is quite rare. The hands and indices retain a sufficient luster, while the luminous material shows color changes but remains intact, adding to its beautiful character. Overall, it's in excellent condition without any significant flaws.

The Ingenieur was a culmination of all the knowledge gathered from previous tool watches, designed for military, scientific, engineering, medical, and more extensive magnetic environments. With its vintage Inter-style classical appearance and sturdy case, it offers a unique charm.

IWC's Cal.85 series automatic movement adopts the proprietary Pellaton system, producing a distinctive sound akin to rolling beads when winding, a feature notably louder than those of other brands.
