OMEGA T17

COMMENT

COMMENT

The "Art Deco Rectangular" model, featuring highly visible Arabic numerals and a small seconds sub-dial, showcases an Art Deco design with interconnected elements—case, minute track, small seconds, and rectangle. The blue steel hands, a distinctive feature seen in Omega's angular models, add character to the design. The case adopts a double structure to address the challenge of dust resistance associated with angular types. The T17 movement, one of the less common angular movements in Omega, reflects a classical style reminiscent of the 1930s. It incorporates delicate techniques such as silver-plated plates, overcoils for temperature regulation, and a cut balance for precision. The unconventional shape of the balance cock, adapted to fit the narrow mechanism, demonstrates ingenuity in stabilizing the center of gravity. The band is a fixed lugs without spring bars.

The case shows minor scratches due to use, maintaining a good condition considering its age. As depicted in the images, the dial has undergone significant aging, displaying a unique coloring. While the blue steel hands exhibit some fading, the deep blue color is still present. It has been disassembled and cleaned by us, with a confirmed power reserve of 46 hours.

This timepiece allows you to appreciate the pre-war style and is a rare find for those who appreciate vintage pieces, especially those from the heyday of Art Deco.
