COMMENT

オメガのレジェンド、スピードマスターRef.105.002です。1962年にRef.2998から６桁に変化しましたが、ディテールに変化は見られません。シルバーカラーのアルファハンドはヴィンテージスピードマスターならではの趣です。搭載ムーブメントCal.321。ピラーホイール式のため、コスト高で、チラネジテンプに巻き上げヒゲと高級仕様です。

ベゼルは写真の通り小傷がありますが、フェード感が良い雰囲気です。ケースは大きな打痕などみられず、プロポーションが良いです。ダイヤルは傷がみられず、良い状態を維持しています。夜光塗料は経年により一部変色して雰囲気が出ています。ここまでコンディションの良い、Ref.105.002は非常に希少です。付属のキャタピラブレスはエクステンションの効きが良好です。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、パワーリザーブ44時間、日差プラス11秒を計測しています。動画を掲載しています。

Ref.2998からRef.105.003へ切り替わる過渡期に生産されました。スピードマスターが月へ行く以前の、レアピースになります。

BRAND

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名な話。

COMMENT

This is the Omega legend, the Speedmaster Ref.105.002. It transitioned from Ref.2998 to a six-digit reference number in 1962, but no changes in detail are observed. The silver alpha hands add a unique touch that is characteristic of vintage Speedmasters. It houses the Cal.321 movement, known for its pillar wheel construction, which is more costly and features a chronometer-grade escapement.

The bezel shows minor scratches as depicted in the photos, but it contributes to a nice faded aesthetic. The case is free from significant dents, maintaining excellent proportions. The dial is in great condition with no visible scratches. The luminous material has undergone some discoloration over time, adding to its character. Ref.105.002 in such pristine condition is extremely rare. The accompanying Caterpillar bracelet has excellent extension functionality. It has been disassembled and cleaned by us, with a confirmed power reserve of 44 hours and a daily deviation of +11 seconds. A video is available for viewing.

This watch was produced during the transitional period from Ref.2998 to Ref.105.003. It's a rare piece from before the Speedmaster went to the moon.

BRAND

While today the equation "Speedmaster equals space" immediately comes to mind, in its early days, it was born as a pure motorsports watch with no connection to space. Additionally, the Speedmaster is renowned as the first watch to display a tachymeter on the external bezel rather than the dial. In 1959, it underwent a minor change, transitioning to an aluminum black base for the bezel and changing the shape of the hands from arrow to alpha, enhancing visibility. NASA sought a robust chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space, and the Speedmaster triumphed over formidable competitors to become the official watch. The famous tale of the Speedmaster being worn during the first moon landing in 1969 further solidified its status.
