厚みのあるぽってりとしたケースがアンティークらしいシーマスター。ダイヤルは中央が隆起したボンベで、シルバーのサンバースト仕上げが美しい意匠です。また、クロスラインを配しており、読時性も充分です。Ref.2589の中でも初期のもので珍しいアルファハンドを装備しており、趣があります。長年製造されているシーマスターは時代によってその印象が大きく変わります。こちらの世代は、500系の安定した機械かつ、50年代のクラシックな意匠を楽しめます。ケースは防水スナップと呼ばれる種類で、ミドルケースと裏蓋で厚いパッキンに圧力をかける、この世代のスタンダードな防水仕様です。現代におきましてはお水に気を付けてご使用ください。

搭載Cal.503では日付の簡易早送りが可能です。時刻合わせで針を往復させて日付を送る「往復送り」を備えており、使い勝手が良いです。自動巻きが巻き上がる時に小気味よいビーズを転がしたような巻き上げ音を立てて、働きをアピールしてきます。

ほんのり焼けた文字盤はシャンパンカラーに輝きヴィンテージらしいです。ゴールドケースとの調和が取れ、ムーディで品の良さを感じます。針やインデックスのコンディションが素晴らしく、煌びやかに輝きます。ケースは小傷こそありますが、面取りされたラグなど当時のシェイプが崩れることなく残っています。リューズにシーマスター専用の、厚みのある純正品が付いています。弊社での分解掃除後、作動テストでは48時間のパワーリザーブに、＋10秒/日の精度を確認しております。

This Seamaster exudes the antique charm with its thick, rounded case. The dial features a central bulging bombé design, adorned with a beautiful silver sunburst finish and cross lines, ensuring ample readability. Equipped with the rare Alpha hands, this early version of Ref.2589 adds a unique touch. Seamasters, produced over the years, showcase varying impressions depending on the era. This generation combines the reliability of the 500 series movement with the classic design elements of the 1950s. The case utilizes a waterproof snap-back type, applying pressure with a thick gasket between the mid-case and the case back—a standard waterproof specification for this era. It's advisable to exercise caution around water in contemporary usage.

The Cal.503 movement in this timepiece allows for an easy date quickset, featuring a "back-and-forth" function where moving the hands back and forth advances the date. The automatic winding produces a delightful winding sound akin to rolling beads, appealing to the senses.

The subtly aged champagne-colored dial radiates a vintage charm, harmonizing well with the gold case, exuding a moody and refined aura. The hands and indices are in excellent condition, sparkling brilliantly. While there are minor scratches on the case, the original shape, including the beveled lugs, remains intact. The Seamaster-specific, thick genuine crown is fitted to the watch. After disassembly and cleaning by our team, the operational test showed a power reserve of 48 hours and an accuracy of +10 seconds/day.
