50年間作られたスペードマスターだからこそ、マイナーチェンジを繰り返した経緯があり、細かなディティールの変化を見つける楽しみがあります。それがロングセラーの理由のひとつ。スピードマスターの中では製造期間の長い方であったRef.145.022ですが、ステップダイアルを備えているものと拘ると年式がぐっと狭まります。立体感のあるダイヤルと、ツイストラグのコンビネーションはムーンウォッチでしか味わえない意匠です。ステップダイヤルの中では後期のもので、NASAの刻印が入ったケースバックとの組み合わせは生産数が少ないです。ブレスレットはRef.1171.633を装備しています。アーカイブが付属します。

ケースは最低限の小傷で、オリジナルプロポーションが残っており大変高評価です。ツイストラグの複雑なエッジが立っております。ベゼルは僅かにフェードし、グレーカラーがヴィンテージしい雰囲気のあるフェイスに。スピードマスターによく見られるベゼルの剥げがないのがポイントの一つです。半ツヤのブラックダイアルは最低限度のエイジングが確認できますが、肉眼ではほとんど気になりません。光にかざすと表れるステップダイアルの陰影を最大限に楽しめます。レターや針のホワイトのプリントは色味がよく残っています。針夜光は黒くエイジングしています。弊社にて分解掃除後、パワーリザーブは48時間以上を確認しております。当時のムーンウォッチをパワフルにお使いいただけます。ビデオにて作動している様子をご確認ください。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名なお話。

The Speedmaster, having been produced for 50 years, underwent several minor changes over its history, offering the pleasure of discovering subtle detail variations. This is one of the reasons for its longevity as a bestseller. Among Speedmasters, the Ref.145.022 had one of the longest production runs. However, focusing on those equipped with a step dial significantly narrows down the production years. The combination of the three-dimensional dial and twisted lugs is a design unique to the Moonwatch. This example features a later version of the step dial, paired with a case back engraved with NASA markings, making it relatively rare. It comes equipped with a Ref.1171.633 bracelet, and archive papers are included.

The case exhibits minimal scratches, maintaining its original proportions, which is highly commendable. The intricate edges of the twisted lugs are prominent. The bezel has faded slightly, giving the face a vintage vibe with a grayish hue. The absence of the typical bezel wear often seen in Speedmasters is a noteworthy feature. The semi-gloss black dial shows minimal aging, barely noticeable to the naked eye. You can fully appreciate the shadows of the step dial when exposed to light. The white prints of the letters and hands remain vivid. The luminous material on the hands has aged to a dark hue. After a full service by our workshop, it has a power reserve of over 48 hours. While today, the equation "Speedmaster equals space" immediately comes to mind, initially, it had nothing to do with space but was born as a pure motorsports watch. Additionally, the Speedmaster is said to be the first watch in the world to display a tachymeter on the outer bezel rather than the dial. In 1959, the Speedmaster underwent a minor change, with the bezel transitioning to a black aluminum base, and the hands changing from arrow-shaped to alpha-shaped, enhancing visibility. NASA was seeking a robust chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space and chose the Speedmaster, which emerged victorious over its formidable competitors, as its official timepiece. It's a well-known fact that the Speedmaster was worn during humanity's first moon landing in 1969.
