1959年から1967年まで製造された、Ref.1016 ギルトダイヤル。74万番代のこちらは、外周のチャプターリングが人気の前期型、中でもType 3に分類されるダイヤルです。1961年から1963年まで製造されたとされるType3ダイヤルは洗練された縦長の王冠を採用。ROLEXのEの中央の棒に縦線が入り、EXPLORERの二つのEの上の棒が長いのはType3のみに見られる特徴です。6時下にはドットが入り、エクスクラメーションダイヤルは、ロレックスが文字盤（インデックスと針）の発光素材に使用されるラジウムを取り除き、トリチウムに入れ替えた際に用いられた意匠です。放射線量が50年末から60年前にかけての原子力委員会による新しい規制に適合したことを示しています。インデックスの夜光塗料は埋め込み式で、ダイヤルよりも一段低いです。オリジナルのフラットロングの針を装備しています。ブレスレットは20mmのリベット、クラスプコード62/1、エンドリンク58番です。

ミラーダイヤルのツヤを残した、素晴らしい個体です。ルーペで細かく見ますとポツポツとした経年変化こそ見られますが、ここまでグロッシーなミラーダイヤルは稀有です。ルミナスは最高のベージュカラーで、6時下のドットが現存しています。針の夜光は落ちています、手付かずな印象でむしろ好感が持てます。ケースは使用傷少ない、素晴らしいコンディション。プロポーションが良く、過度な使用歴は感じ取れません。ブレスは適度に使用されています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。パワーリザーブは48時間以上を確認しています。

Manufactured from 1959 to 1967, the Ref.1016 Gilt Dial. This specific piece, with a serial number in the 740,000 range, belongs to the early popular type with an outer chapter ring, particularly classified as Type 3. The Type 3 dial, produced from 1961 to 1963, features a refined elongated coronet. It distinguishes itself with vertical lines inside the "E" in "ROLEX" at the center, and longer bars above the "E"s in "EXPLORER," characteristics unique to Type 3. Below the 6 o'clock marker, there are dots, marking the "Exclamation Dial," an aesthetic introduced when Rolex replaced radium, a luminous material used on dials and hands, with tritium, complying with new regulations from the Atomic Energy Commission in the late 1950s to early 1960s. The luminous material on the indices is recessed and positioned one level lower than the dial. It's equipped with the original flat long hands. The bracelet is a 20mm rivet, with clasp code 62/1 and end link 58.

This specimen retains a magnificent gloss on its mirror dial. While there are minor signs of aging visible under a loupe, finding such a glossy mirror dial is exceptionally rare. The luminous material has the finest beige hue, with the dot below the 6 o'clock marker still intact. The luminous material on the hands has degraded, adding to its untouched allure. The case is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use, displaying impeccable proportions without evidence of excessive wear. The bracelet exhibits moderate signs of use. It has been disassembled and cleaned by our company, with a confirmed power reserve of over 48 hours.
