アンジェラスのクロノデイト。現在ではあまり知られていないメーカーですが、1940年代で自社ムーブを搭載したクロノグラフを製造していることから、優れたメーカーであることは言わずもがなでしょう。当時クロノグラフやトリプルカレンダーなどの複雑系の時計で名を馳せていたビッグメゾンでした。38mmのジャンボケースは金メッキを施しています。ダイヤルはきめ細やかな縦ヘアライン仕上げを施したホワイト。3時に45分積算計、9時にスモールセコンドを配します。インデックスは12.6がアラビア、他はドットでこの世代らしさを感じます。月と曜日の表示は12時、6時に配置しており、シンメトリーなデザインとなっています。曜日はスウェーデン語表記で、この時計のアイデンティティを確立しています。時分針とセンタークロノ針は全てブルースチール、ポインターデイト針はシルバーにレッドプリントの△ポインターがついています。

ケース、ダイヤル共にミントな素晴らしいコンディション。ラグのファセットは状態良く残っており、ベゼルはエッジが立っています。ダイヤルは焼けが見られず、製造から80年近く経過した今でもシルバーのパリッとした色合いを保っています。ブルースチールの針はルーペで確認すると、所々色抜けが確認できます。肉眼ではさほど気になりません。

クロノデイトは1942年から展開された、世界初のトリプルカレンダークロノグラフです。大きくて視認性のよいダイヤル、多機能な複雑機構のクロノデイトはアンジェラスが名声を獲得するきっかけのモデルとなりました。1940年代の時計としては、存外のコンディションですので、当時のままにご使用されたい方は必見です。

The Chronodate from Angelus, though not widely recognized today, stands as a testament to the manufacturer's excellence, producing chronographs with in-house movements in the 1940s. During that era, Angelus gained prominence for crafting complicated timepieces such as chronographs and triple calendars. The Jumbo case, measuring 38mm, features gold plating. The dial, adorned with finely crafted vertical sunburst finishing in white, hosts a 45-minute chronograph sub-dial at 3 o'clock and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock. The indices consist of Arabic numerals at 12 and 6, while the others are marked with dots, showcasing the characteristic style of this generation. The month and day displays symmetrically adorn the 12 and 6 o'clock positions, with the days of the week presented in Swedish, adding to the watch's identity. The hour and minute hands, as well as the central chronograph hand, are all in blue steel, while the pointer date hand is silver with a red-printed triangular pointer.

The push buttons have the following functions:
- 12:30 adjusts the month
- 6:30 adjusts the day of the week
- 8:30 advances the date

Both the case and dial are in mint, outstanding condition. The facets of the lugs are well-preserved, and the bezel exhibits sharp edges. The dial shows no signs of fading, maintaining a crisp silver tone even after nearly 80 years since its manufacture. The blue steel hands, upon close inspection, reveal minor color fading in some areas, but this is not prominently noticeable to the naked eye.

The Chronodate, introduced in 1942, was the world's first triple calendar chronograph. Known for its large and highly legible dial and multifunctional complicated mechanism, the Chronodate became the model that propelled Angelus to fame.
