60年以上もの間作られたスペードマスターだからこそ、マイナーチェンジを繰り返した経緯があり、細かなディティールの変化を見つける楽しみがあります。1995年製のムーンウォッチはCal.861を積んでいます。1997年よりロジウムメッキタイプのCal.1861に変更されるので、約30年間ムーンウォッチに搭載されたCal.861の中では、後年のものにあたります。ルミナスにはトリチウムを採用しており、ヴィンテージウォッチならではの表情が特徴です。当時のボックス、ギャランティーが付属するコレクタブルな一品。

ダイアルはパーフェクトです。気になるような傷やダメージは見当たりません。針のホワイトプリントはエイジングがなく、当時のままを保っています。濃いめのベージュに焼けたトリチウムは均一で、稀に見る美しいエイジング。針は交換されることなく、当時物が付いております。ケースは傷の少ない美しいもので、ツイストラグのエッジが効いています。ダメージの表れやすいベゼルは黒々としており、瑞々しさを感じます。ビデオを掲載しています。

実用としては、もちろん理想的な高級時計であり、時計コレクションの世界でも、オメガのスピードマスターは優れたタイムピースです。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名なお話。

COMMENT

The Speedmaster, produced for over 60 years, has undergone numerous minor changes, making it a delight to spot the subtle variations in detail. This 1995 Moonwatch is equipped with the Cal.861 movement. It falls within the later versions of Cal.861, as from 1997 onwards, it was replaced with the rhodium-plated Cal.1861. The use of tritium for luminous material gives it a vintage charm unique to older watches. It comes with its original box and guarantee, making it a collectible piece.

The dial is flawless, devoid of any noticeable scratches or damage. The white printing on the hands remains pristine, retaining its original appearance. The tritium, aged to a rich beige hue, is uniformly beautiful, a rare sight. The hands are original, showing no signs of replacement. The case is in excellent condition with minimal scratches, and the twisted lugs add character. The bezel, prone to damage, remains deep black, exuding freshness. A video is available for viewing.

As a practical timepiece, it is undoubtedly an ideal luxury watch and a standout in any watch collection.

BRAND

While today the equation "Speedmaster equals space" immediately comes to mind, in its early days, it was born as a pure motorsports watch with no connection to space. Additionally, the Speedmaster is renowned as the first watch to display a tachymeter on the external bezel rather than the dial. In 1959, it underwent a minor change, transitioning to an aluminum black base for the bezel and changing the shape of the hands from arrow to alpha, enhancing visibility. NASA sought a robust chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space, and the Speedmaster triumphed over formidable competitors to become the official watch. The famous tale of the Speedmaster being worn during the first moon landing in 1969 further solidified its status.
