COMMENT

1919年以来、永遠に作り続けられるCARTIERの名作タンク。1970年代から始まるディフュージョンラインであるマストシリーズの生産前に作られた、プレマストタンクです。18金張りのケース、文字盤に「must de」の表記が入らない、ホワイトローマンのフェイスは後のルイカルティエコレクションにも重なるデザインです。古い年式でしか見られない砲弾型カボジョンリューズが装着します。

ダイヤルにはわずかにエイジングが見られますが、針は青焼きのため、今もなお美しい輝きを保っています。ケースは約50年の歳月を感じさせる風合いを活かし、風防の傷や酸化皮膜をあえて残しています。ベルトはクロコダイル製でタンク専用オリジナルのサイズのままに製作しております。カルティエ純正のバックルが装備されておりますので、そのオリジナル性をお楽しみ頂けます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

マストタンクが登場する1977年以前の製品は、ファンの間でプレマストと呼ばれています。それは1973年頃からカルティエが腕時計を量産し始めた黎明期であり、今となってはミステリアスな作品を多く製造しました。またその形状、表示や刻印のバリエーションがあります。ネット上には不確かな情報が多く、未だ解明されていない分野です。弊社は長年の取り扱いにより、正規品を研究し続けています。

現在では、ジュエラーとして名高いカルティエですが、まだ懐中時計が主流だった1904年に本格的な腕時計を製作したのはカルティエが最初でした。「タンク」という名前は、“戦車”を意味し、第一次世界大戦中の終結に貢献したといわれる、ルノー製の戦車がデザインの基となっています。その中でもマストシリーズは文字盤のバリエーションが豊富にあります。

Since its creation in 1919, the Cartier Tank has remained an eternal icon. This is a Pre-Must Tank, produced before the launch of the Must de Cartier diffusion line in the 1970s. Featuring a gold-filled case and a white Roman numeral dial without the “must de” inscription, its design closely aligns with the later Louis Cartier collection. It is also fitted with a torpedo-shaped cabochon crown, a detail seen only in early models.  

The dial shows slight aging, but the blued steel hands have retained their beautiful luster. The case preserves the patina of its nearly 50-year history, with the crystal’s scratches and oxidation intentionally left untouched. The strap is made of crocodile leather, crafted in the original Tank-specific size. The watch is equipped with a genuine Cartier buckle, ensuring its originality. It has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.  

A cult classic, the Pre-Must Tank embodies both vintage charm and elegance. This piece is an exceptional choice for those who appreciate true craftsmanship.

The name “Tank” refers to military tanks, with its design inspired by Renault’s war machines that played a significant role in ending World War I.
