COMMENT

サントスは、ベゼルとブレスレットにビス装飾を取り入れた、カルティエを象徴するデザイン。ダイヤルはマットな質感の淡いアイボリーで、ミニッツトラック、ローマ数字、サークルラインの絶妙な配置がクラシカルな雰囲気を際立たせます。ブルースチールのバトン針とカボションリューズの色合いが調和し、控えめながら洗練されたアクセントになっています。

ケースは4時位置に擦れ跡が見られるものの、全体的に傷が少なく良好なコンディションです。8角形ベゼルはシルエットが保たれており、当時のシャープな輪郭を今に伝えています。ダイヤルは傷がない状態を維持。ローマンインデックスやミニッツトラックのプリントは欠けが見られません。ブルースチールの針はパティナが入らず、鮮やかな色味を維持しています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

1900年代初頭、飛行士アルベルト・サントス＝デュモンが飛行中に時刻を確認したいとカルティエに依頼したことから誕生したのが「サントス」シリーズです。八角形ベゼルの「サントスオクタゴン」は、その流れを汲みつつ、ジュエラーとしてのカルティエらしい優美な造形を体現したモデル。平面カットのブレスレットが腕の動きにあわせてきらめき、シンプルながらもエレガンスを感じさせる一本です。

COMMENT

The Santos is one of Cartier’s most iconic designs, distinguished by its screw-set bezel and matching screw accents on the bracelet. The dial features a soft matte ivory tone, with a classically arranged layout of Roman numerals, a railway minute track, and an inner circle—all contributing to its timeless elegance. Blued steel baton hands and a cabochon-set crown add refined contrast, offering a subtle yet sophisticated accent.

The case remains in very good condition overall, with only a light scuff visible near the 4 o’clock position. The octagonal bezel retains its original silhouette, preserving the sharp edges characteristic of its era. The dial is free of scratches, and the printed Roman numerals and minute track remain crisp and intact. The blued steel hands show no signs of patina, maintaining their vivid coloration. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our team.

The LM-sized Santos Octagon has become increasingly scarce in the market, making this a rare opportunity. The flat-cut bracelet catches light beautifully, evoking the presence of a finely crafted jewelry bangle.
