COMMENT

1964年に登場したキングセイコーのセカンドモデル、Ref.44-9990です。1stモデルと比べ、ハック機能の搭載や、スクリューバックの採用など、実用性の向上が図られています。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ、ソリッドなバーインデックス×ドルフィンハンドのクラシカルな意匠。ノンデイトですのですっきりとしたシンメトリーなフェイスが魅力です。

ケースはラグにわずかな使用傷が見られるものの、全体の印象を損なうことなく整ったコンディションを維持しています。ダイヤルはシルバーの美しい輝きをしっかりと残しており、エイジングの影響を感じさせません。針にはわずかな傷があるものの、十分な輝きを保っています。インデックスは見事な状態で、鏡面仕上げが美しく光を反射します。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

無駄を削ぎ落としたデザインが魅力のキングセイコー。質素でありながら趣を感じさせる、日本人ならではの美意識が息づく一本です。シンプルでありながらも、普遍的な美しさが際立ち、時を超えて輝き続けるオーラを放っています。

キングセイコーは1961年8月に亀戸の第二精工舎にて開発され、グランドセイコーに次ぐ高級腕時計としてセイコーの時計史において欠かすことのできない名品腕時計となっています。

COMMENT  

The second-generation King Seiko model, Ref. 44-9990, debuted in 1964. Compared to the first model, this version introduced practical improvements such as a hacking function and a screw-back case. The dial features a silver sunray finish with solid bar indices and dauphine hands, creating a classic aesthetic. As a no-date model, it maintains a clean and symmetrical face, enhancing its refined appearance.  

The case has minor signs of use on the lugs, but overall, it retains a well-preserved condition without compromising its elegance. The dial still exhibits a beautiful silver sheen with minimal aging effects. The hands have slight wear but maintain their luster, while the indices are in excellent condition, reflecting light beautifully with their mirror finish. This watch has been disassembled and serviced by our company.  

The King Seiko embodies a minimalist yet sophisticated design, reflecting the uniquely Japanese appreciation for understated elegance. Its simplicity is timeless, exuding a lasting aura of refinement that continues to shine across generations.

The King Seiko was developed in August 1961 by Daini Seikosha in Kameido as a high-end wristwatch second only to the Grand Seiko. It remains an iconic timepiece in Seiko’s history.
