パイパンダイヤルのロレックス。パイパンダイヤルとは、12角型に文字盤中央部は高く、インデックス設置部は低いため、パイを焼くフライパンをひっくり返したような造形からそう呼ばれています。オメガのコンステレーションによくみられる技法ですが、ロレックスでも採用していました。
ロレックスでは更にミニッツラインが一段上がることで、インデックスがセクターとなる、パイパンダイヤルの応用デザインです。夜光無しなことでこの時計の良さを後押ししています。フラットな王冠ロゴやアプライドの浮きROLEXなど、オールドロレックスならではの立体造形に富んだダイヤルです。付属のブレスレットは現存数が少ないことから珍重されている、1956年のリベットエキスパンジョンブレスを装備しています。

ケースは当時のプロポーションをバランスよく保っています。オリジナルのプラス竜頭が残っており嬉しいです。ダイヤルはシルバーの色味を、シャンパンカラーへと変化させています。インデックスは相応のエイジングがありますが、このダイアルの雰囲気によく合います。弊社にて分解掃除済みで、パワーリザーブ50時間以上を確認しています。

This Rolex features a pie-pan dial, characterized by its octagonal shape with a raised central portion and lower index setting, resembling an upside-down frying pan, hence the name "pie-pan dial." While this technique is commonly seen in Omega's Constellation models, Rolex also adopted it. In Rolex's rendition, the minute track is raised further, creating a sector dial effect with the indices, a derivative design of the pie-pan dial. The absence of luminescence further enhances the appeal of this timepiece. With its flat crown logo and raised ROLEX emblem, it boasts a dial rich in three-dimensional details, characteristic of vintage Rolexes. Equipped with a 1956 rivet expansion bracelet, highly valued due to its rarity.

The case maintains the balanced proportions typical of that era, with the original plus-shaped crown still intact, which is a delight. The dial shifts from silver to a champagne hue, adding character. While the indices show appropriate aging, they complement the dial's ambiance well. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company, confirming a power reserve of over 50 hours.
