ロレックスが誇るデイトジャストシリーズにスポーティな回転ベゼルを搭載した意欲作、通称「サンダーバード」Ref.16250は、デイトジャストの伝統を引き継ぎながら、洗練されたスポーティさを兼ね備えています。ホワイトゴールドベゼルが特徴的で、前身1625や後身16264に比べて、細字のベゼルインサートが採用され、サンダーバード史上最も繊細で上品、ラグジュアリーな印象を与えています。ケースはステンレススチール製で、控えめなツートーンカラーのベゼルが、エレガンスを醸し出しています。ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ仕上げで、シンプルなバーインデックスがティピカルなデザインとなっています。ロレックス純正のジュビリーブレスレットRef.62510H、クラスプコードC、エンドリンク555が付属します。

未着用と言って良い、NOS（ニューオールドストック）です。ケースバックには販売当時のシールが残っています。当時のタグが付属します。厳密に申しますと、針はほんのわずかに白いスポットの経年変化が確認できます。インデックス、アプライドのロゴに経年変化は一切ありません。ブレスレットは一切使用されておらず、バックルのヒンジが固く自立するほど、素晴らしいコンディションです。

The Rolex Datejust series, renowned for its heritage, takes on a sportier edge with the ambitious Ref. 16250, commonly known as the "Thunderbird." While upholding the tradition of the Datejust, this model seamlessly blends sophistication with a sporty aesthetic. Its defining feature is the white gold bezel, which, compared to its predecessor Ref. 1625 and successor Ref. 16264, features a fine-lettered insert, lending it the most refined, elegant, and luxurious appearance in Thunderbird history. The stainless steel case, coupled with the subtly two-toned bezel, exudes understated elegance. The silver sunray-finished dial, featuring simple bar indexes, embodies a quintessential and timeless design. Included with the watch is a genuine Rolex Jubilee bracelet (Ref. 62510H) with clasp code C and end links 555.

This particular Ref. 16250 is in New Old Stock (NOS) condition, virtually unworn. The original caseback sticker from the time of sale remains intact, along with its period-correct tag. The hands exhibit minor white spotting due to aging, while the applied logo and indexes remain completely unaffected. The bracelet shows no signs of wear, and the buckle hinge is so firm that it stands upright—testament to its pristine state.

When handling vintage watches, exceptionally well-preserved examples are often kept in their original condition to maintain their value. We believe in leaving the decision of servicing to the next owner, as any disassembly could potentially impact original paintwork or finishing. The "Thunderbird" name originates from the U.S. Air Force aerobatic team, the Thunderbirds. Rooted in the deluxe evolution of the original sports model, the Turn-O-Graph, it evolved through Ref. 6609 to establish its own identity as a sport-dress hybrid. With the growing difficulty of acquiring Rolex sports models, the Thunderbird appears poised for a significant rise in demand. As the fourth generation in the series, the Ref. 16250 was produced for only about a decade before being succeeded by the Ref. 16264, making it one of Rolex’s shorter-lived references. Due to its rarity and refined design, this model is highly sought after by collectors and remains an outstanding piece for both collection and everyday enjoyment.
