1953年にアメリカで販売されたロンジン。戦後の華やかな年代を象徴し、特徴的なアメリカンなラグが特徴です。ケースは直径29mmで、14金のイエローゴールド無垢製です。ダイヤルはマットなホワイトの塗装と、シルバーの同心円のヘアライン仕上げを施したツートンダイヤルです。砲弾型とアラビア数字のインデックスが特徴的で、ミニッツはパールドロップで飾られています。夜光塗料は使用されておらず、シンプルなドルフィンハンドが採用されています。アーカイブが付属します。

ケースはラグの多角的なファセットをよく残し、状態は良好です。ケースバックには14K GOLD APEXの刻印が深く残っています。ダイヤルはツートンの内と外で経年の具合が異なり、興味深いです。内側は塗装面のためか、粒状の経年変化が目立っており、外側にも確認できますがさほど気になりません。針はダイヤルに相応しい経年変化が見られます。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

ウィットナー銘ではないため、当時の高級ラインとして販売されたものと考えられます。ケースはアメリカで製造されたもののため、ホールマークは見当たりません。小さなサイズながらもしっかりしたラグが特徴で、腕によく馴染み、着用するのが楽しい一本です。

COMMENT

This Longines timepiece, sold in the United States in 1953, epitomizes the glamorous post-war era with its distinctive American-style lugs. The case, measuring 29mm in diameter, is crafted from solid 14k yellow gold. The dial features a matte white coating with a silver concentric circular brushed finish, creating a striking two-tone effect. The bullet-shaped and Arabic numeral indexes, along with the pearl-drop minute markers, are distinctive features. There is no luminescent paint used, and the watch features simple dauphine hands. The case retains its multifaceted lug facets well, and its condition is excellent. The case back bears a deep engraving of "14K GOLD APEX." The dial exhibits different aging characteristics between its inner and outer areas, which is intriguing. The inner portion shows noticeable grainy aging, likely due to the painted surface, which is also visible on the outer area but is less pronounced. The hands show appropriate aging that complements the dial. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by our company.

Although not branded as a Wittnauer, it is believed to have been marketed as part of Longines' luxury line at the time. As the case was manufactured in the United States, there are no hallmarks present. Despite its small size, the watch features sturdy lugs that conform well to the wrist, making it a delight to wear.
