LEONIDAS 38mm Water-resistant Chronograph Valjoux 22

1940年代のレオニダス。当時において最先端の耐震装置を備えたValjoux 22を搭載したクロノグラフです。ケースはステンレススチール製で38mm径。ステップベゼルとスクリューバックを備えた防水仕様の、ハイスペックなものです。ダイヤルはブラックミラー仕上げで、インダイヤルを含むすべての印字は下地出しとなっています。ルミナスのアラビアインデックスは、ミリタリーウォッチを彷彿とさせます。インダイヤルは3時位置に30分積算計、9時位置に永久秒針を配置しています。

ケースは小傷が見られるものの、オリジナルのプロポーションを保っています。ミントなフラットベゼルのエッジと使用感の少ないプッシュボタンは感銘を受けるほどの状態です。ダイヤルはミラーのツヤをよく残し、素晴らしいコンディションを維持しています。厳正に注視するとわずかに質感の変化が見られますが、それも雰囲気の良い経年変化です。ギルトの印字は光を強く反射し、存在感を発揮しています。アラビア数字の夜光塗料はベージュに焼け、愛らしさを感じさせます。針は良好なコンディションを保っています。弊社にて分解掃除済みですので、ご購入後すぐにお使いいただけます。

腕時計が非常に高価だった時代において、クロノグラフというハイスペック機能を持つムーブメントを、耐磁性能に優れた防水ケースに収めています。当時の市民生活とはかけ離れた、軍用、航空、車両などプロユースのために製造されたものでした。当時レオニダスがドイツ空軍に納入したRLM-Navと同等のスペックを備え、同社においても最高峰の際立った作品だったことでしょう。

BRAND

レオニダスは1841年にサンティミエで設立。1964年にホイヤーと合併し、1985年にTAG Heuerになったことで、ブランドは消滅しました。クロノグラフの製造で名を馳せたビッグネームであり、ミリタリーウォッチを多く製造したことでも有名。

The 1940s Leonidas waterproof chronograph features the Valjoux 22 movement. The stainless steel case has a 38mm diameter, step bezel, and screw-back, highlighting its high specifications. The black mirror-finished dial with subdials showcases embossed printing, while the luminous Arabic numerals evoke a military watch aesthetic. Subdials include a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a running seconds subdial at 9 o’clock.

Despite some minor scratches, the case retains its original proportions. The mint flat bezel edge and barely worn push buttons are impressive. The dial maintains a beautiful mirror finish and excellent condition, with slight texture changes adding to its vintage charm. The gilt printing reflects light brilliantly, emphasizing its presence. The luminous Arabic numerals have aged to a charming beige, and the hands remain in excellent condition. The watch has been serviced by us and is ready for immediate use.

During a time when wristwatches were very expensive, this high-specification chronograph with antimagnetic and waterproof features was designed for professional use in the military, aviation, and automotive fields. Comparable to the RLM-Nav supplied by Leonidas to the German Air Force, this watch was among the standout pieces of the brand.

BRAND

Leonidas was founded in 1841 in Saint-Imier. The brand merged with Heuer in 1964, eventually becoming TAG Heuer in 1985, leading to the discontinuation of the Leonidas name. Renowned for their chronographs, Leonidas was also known for producing numerous military watches.
