1932年に発表されたパテックフィリップのカラトラバ Ref.96は、シンプルで機能的なデザインが特徴のカラトラバ初代モデルであり、現在の腕時計デザインの模範とされています。直径31mm、厚さ9mmのケースには、フラットな鏡面ベゼルとスナップバックの裏蓋が採用されています。ラグはケース構造に一体化され、手首に快適にフィットする形状です。象嵌ダイヤルはシンプルかつモダンで、盛り上がったロゴが確認できます。金色の台形インデックスが並び、6時位置にはスモールセコンドを配置。ドーフィン針が時間と分を視認性良く示します。1950年頃に登場したパテックフィリップの手巻きムーブメント、Cal.12-400を搭載し、1932年発表のCal.12-120の後継として開発された第2世代のムーブメントです。

ケースは素晴らしいコンディションで、フラットベゼルには鋭いエッジが残り、迫力があります。ダイヤル外周の10時から11時方向には小キズが見られますが、その他はルーペで確認する限り細かな経年変化が見受けられる程度で、肉眼では目立ちません。針やインデックスにはメッキ剥がれがなく、光を鮮やかに反射しています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

The Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 96, introduced in 1932, is the first model of the Calatrava series, known for its simple and functional design, setting a standard in wristwatch aesthetics. The case measures 31mm in diameter and 9mm in thickness, featuring a flat, mirror-finish bezel and a snap-back case. The lugs are seamlessly integrated into the case structure, ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist. The dial is a minimalist masterpiece with an inlaid design and an embossed logo. It is adorned with gold trapezoidal indices, and a small seconds subdial is positioned at 6 o'clock. The dauphine hands provide excellent legibility for hours and minutes. Inside, it houses the manually wound Caliber 12-400, introduced around 1950 as the successor to the original Cal. 12-120 from 1932. This second-generation movement improves on accuracy and reliability.

The case is in exceptional condition, with sharp edges on the flat bezel that give it a striking appearance. There are minor scratches around the 10 o'clock to 11 o'clock area of the dial periphery, but otherwise, only minimal aging is visible under a loupe and not noticeable to the naked eye. The hands and indices are free from plating loss and reflect light brilliantly. The watch has been fully serviced by us.
