ジャガー・ルクルトのアラーム機能を搭載したダイバーズウォッチ「ポラリス2」は、従来のドレスモデルがメインであったメモボックスコレクションに革新的なダイバー性能を加えた意欲作です。E870はダイヤルカラーにバリエーションがあり、LECOULTRE銘のアメリカ市場向けにはレッドとブルーのバージョンが、JAEGER LECOULTRE銘のグレーダイヤルバージョンはヨーロッパ市場向けに販売されたとされています。こちらは後者に当たります。

E870ポラリス2の特徴的なデザインには、強固なステンレススチールケースと40mmを超えるサイズ感、視認性を重視したレイアウトのダイヤルが搭載されています。アラーム機能と回転ベゼル、そしてシンプルな時間表示が組み合わさり、ダイビング時の実用性が高められています。また、ケースバックには音響効率を意識した設計が施され、水中でもアラーム音がはっきりと伝わるようになっています。

素晴らしいコンディションを保っており、マットのサンドブラスト仕上げのケースには目立った大きな傷がなく、見事な状態を維持しています。目立った使用感もなく、風防には軽微な傷が見受けられる程度です。ダメージの現れやすいベゼルも素晴らしい状態です。ポインターの夜光塗料は美しいベージュカラーを保っています。ダイヤルは非常に綺麗な状態で、トリチウムインデックスの色味が美しいです。当時のトロピックベルトが未使用で付属しています。

ポラリス2は、コレクターズアイテムとしてその価値が高く評価されており、コンディションを維持するため、分解掃除はあえて行わず、現状のままで販売となります。分解掃除を行う場合、パーツのペイントや仕上げに影響を及ぼす可能性があるため、慎重な作業が求められます。そのため、本品は極めて良好な状態を保ったまま、次のオーナー様の判断に委ねる形で販売いたします。なお、別途で分解掃除を実施することも可能ですので、ご希望の方はご相談ください。以下の作動テストを実施済みですので、参考値としてご確認ください。

＜JAEGER LE COULTRE（ジャガー・ルクルト）＞は、現在も個性的なモデルを数多く製造し続けるマニュファクチュール。かつては、他の名門メーカー（ヴァシュロン・コンスタンタン、オーデマピゲ、パテックフィリップ、カルティエ等）にもムーブメントやパーツ等のエボーシュを供給していました。始まりは1183年、スイスの小さな工房から。「科学によって立つ」という信念のもと、信頼ある機械・製造ラインを作ることに力を入れ、時計の中心地であったスイスで、高級ブランドに時計の機械・部品製造の先端を行く供給元に成長しました。＜レベルソ＞を代表する自社ブレンドモデルなど、現在では数少ない自社生産のマニファクチューるブランドです。

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris II is a remarkable evolution of the Memovox collection, blending the classic alarm function with enhanced diving capabilities. Unlike earlier Memovox models, which were primarily dress watches, this reference E870 introduced robust diver-friendly features. Dial variations exist, with red and blue versions branded as "LeCoultre" for the U.S. market, while the "Jaeger-LeCoultre" gray dial version was designated for the European market—this example belongs to the latter category.

The Polaris II E870 boasts a bold design, featuring a sturdy stainless steel case exceeding 40mm in diameter, an easy-to-read dial layout optimized for visibility, and a combination of alarm functionality, a rotating bezel, and a straightforward time display—all enhancing its practicality for diving. The case back was engineered with sound transmission efficiency in mind, ensuring that the alarm remains audible even underwater.

This example remains in outstanding condition. The matte sandblasted case shows no significant scratches and has been well-preserved. Signs of wear are minimal, with only minor marks on the crystal. The bezel—prone to damage over time—remains in superb condition. The luminous material on the hands has aged into a beautiful beige tone, while the dial remains exceptionally clean with well-preserved tritium indexes. It also comes with an unused original Tropic strap from the same era.

Due to its high collectibility, this watch is being sold in its original, unrestored condition. Disassembly and servicing can sometimes alter painted or finished components, and to maintain its integrity, we have chosen to leave that decision to the next owner.
