TAVANNES Bulls eye Black Gilt Dial

COMMENT

40〜50年代のブルズアイダイヤルのタバンをご紹介します。一線を画した強烈な個性を放つダイヤルには驚かされるばかり。内側はこってりとした艶やかな黒、対して外周はなんといいますか、ゴースティーとでも評すべき不思議なグレーのような色。ケースはスクリューバックがトレタケで、年式を考えるとケース全体のコンディションは十分良好。ムーブメントはいわゆるバナナムーブのCYMA010K。ダイヤル上の文字はスウェーデン語で書かれていますので、同年代に多く輸出された他メーカーの物と同様に興味を惹かれます。幻想的なダイヤルが一度見たら忘れられなくなりそうな、クセになる1本です。

BRAND

CYMA（シーマ）の設立当初のブランド名TAVANNES（タバン）。1862年に時計職人であるジョセフ・シュワオブによって、スイスのジュラ山の渓谷の町ル・ロックルで誕生。時計の聖地であるスイスにおいて最初に自社工場のオートメーション化を導入した。 常に先進的な技術を取り入れて成長しただけでなく、デザインでも数多くの賞を受賞し、名実共に世界的に認められるブランド。軍用時計をイギリス軍に納入するなど、確かな実績を重ね、知る人ぞ知る実力派ブランドの一つ。

Here's a Bulls-eye dial Taban from the 1940s to 1950s. The dial's striking personality is truly captivating. The inner portion boasts a rich, glossy black, while the outer ring exhibits a mysterious gray, almost ghostly in appearance. The case features a screw-back design, typical for the era, and considering its age, the overall condition of the case is quite commendable. The movement is the so-called "banana" movement, the CYMA 010K. The text on the dial is written in Swedish, adding to its intrigue, much like other watches exported during the same period. With its fantastical dial, this timepiece is sure to leave a lasting impression, becoming quite addictive once seen.
