白いアクセント付きのブラックダイヤルは、優れたコントラストをサプライ。30分、12時間、スモールセコンドのサブダイヤルの組み合わせ、2重構造のケースバック、42mmケースなど、伝説のムーンウォッチは完全な当時のディテールを持っています。

濃いめのベージュに焼けたトリチウムは均一で、稀に見る美しいエイジング。針も交換されることなく、当時物が付いております。ケースはポリッシュされておらず、小傷はありますが気になるへこみは見られません。1039キャタピラブレスが付属するのはポイントが高いです。ブレスのみ研磨された形跡が見られますが、エキスパンダーのコマが多めに付いており、十分な長さです。

実用としては、もちろん理想的な高級時計であり、時計コレクションの世界でも、オメガのスピードマスターは優れたタイムピースです。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名な話。

The black dial with white accents provides excellent contrast. It features a combination of 30-minute, 12-hour, and small seconds sub-dials, along with a double-layered case back and a 42mm case, all embodying the complete details of the legendary Moonwatch.

The tritium, aged to a rich beige hue, displays a beautifully uniform aging rarely seen. The hands remain original and unaltered, adding to its authenticity. While the case shows minor scratches and signs of wear, there are no significant dents. The inclusion of the 1039 bracelet is a significant highlight. Although the bracelet shows signs of polishing, it comes with ample expandable links, ensuring a comfortable fit.

In terms of practicality, it's undoubtedly an ideal luxury timepiece and a standout in the world of watch collections.

While the equation "Speedmaster equals space" is immediately apparent today, it's important to note that it was originally conceived as a pure motorsport watch with no association to space. Additionally, the Speedmaster was the first watch to feature a tachymeter scale on the bezel rather than the dial, marking a significant innovation in horology. Its evolution in 1959 included changes such as transitioning to a black base aluminium bezel and altering the hand shape from arrow to alpha, enhancing visibility. NASA's search for a robust chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space led to the Speedmaster's official adoption as the space watch, triumphing over formidable competitors. Its association with the first manned moon landing in 1969 further cemented its iconic status.
