COMMENT

18金無垢ケースの繊細な造形が美しいムーンフェイズのタンク。マットなアイボリーのダイヤルにはローマンインデックスが施され、中央側にはポインターデイト用のアラビア文字がプリントされています。6時位置のムーンフェイズがデザインの主役となり、ジュエラーらしい高級感あふれる意匠です。また、リューズの下にあるボタンを押すことで、日付の早送り調整が可能となっています。

ケースは細かい使用傷が散見されますが、大きな打痕はなく、最小限に収まっています。ダイヤルは9時側に黒ずんだ部分が見られますが、気になる程度ではありません。針は青焼きされており、傷やくすみは一切ありません。6時位置のムーンフェイズは細かいポツポツが僅かに見られるものの、良好な状態を保っています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

BRAND

現在では、ジュエラーとして名高いカルティエですが、まだ懐中時計が主流だった1904年に本格的な腕時計を製作したのはカルティエが最初でした。「タンク」という名前は、“戦車”を意味し、第一次世界大戦中の終結に貢献したといわれる、ルノー製の戦車がデザインの基となっています。

COMMENT

This is the angular model of Santos, known as "Santos Galbée." Santos is characterized by its bezel and bracelet adorned with screws motif. The dial features Cartier's signature matte ivory color with Roman numerals. The hour and minute hands are baton-shaped with blue steel. A blue spinel stone is set in the cabochon crown. The moon phase complication at 6 o'clock takes center stage, exuding a luxurious design typical of a jeweler.

The case has been finished by us, presenting a clean and pristine condition without any visible scratches. The dial maintains its matte texture without any noticeable aging. The prints remain intact without any peeling, preserving their original appearance. While it's not uncommon for the blue coating of the moon phase to wear off, revealing the underlying gold, this piece retains its original state. The cabochon crown, including the precious stone, shows no signs of deterioration. The bracelet has minimal stretching, a delightful feature. The watch has been disassembled and cleaned by us.

The Santos combines smoothly curved lines with the impression of sturdy screws, creating a unique blend of softness and a commanding presence. The distinct material transitions and the prominent moon phase complication showcase its classic dial design. BRAND

While Cartier is now renowned as a jeweler, it was the first to create a full-fledged wristwatch in 1904 when pocket watches were still predominant. The request from aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont for a watch he could easily read while flying led to the birth of the Santos wristwatch, which was introduced to the public in 1911.
