The Ref.2301 is the medium-sized model of Cartier’s iconic Tank Française. Crafted in a two-tone configuration, the case and bracelet combine stainless steel with 18K yellow gold accents on the bezel and bracelet center links. Its block-like architecture—blending sharp lines with subtle curves—epitomizes the modern design language introduced with the Française in the late 1990s, a style that redefined the Tank line for a new era. The matte white dial features bold Roman numerals and blued-steel hands, radiating Cartier’s signature classical elegance. This example comes complete with box and guarantee papers, enhancing its collectability.
The case and bracelet are in excellent condition, showing virtually no signs of wear. The contrast between the gold and steel surfaces remains vivid, while the interplay of satin-brushed and polished finishes highlights the sculptural form of the case. The dial is crisp, with sharp printing and vibrant color on the hands. The blued-steel hands retain their deep hue, balancing legibility with refinement. Serviced and cleaned by our watchmakers.
Launched to mark Cartier’s 150th anniversary, the Tank Française seamlessly blended the maison’s tradition with a contemporary design ethos. The MM size is versatile—regarded as a larger ladies’ watch, yet by vintage standards also a classic men’s size at around 30mm in height. The two-tone steel-and-gold configuration exudes both vibrancy and lightness, making it a perfect companion for daily wear as well as formal occasions, suited to both men and women.
