ダイアルの6時位置600に「m」表記が無い初期型600ダイバー。大きなフェイスサイズに目がいきがちですが、ディティールへの繊細な造り込みもしっかりと満たしているジャパンメイドです。1970年代当時、世界初のチタンケースを採用した時計として話題を呼びました。現在では、愛好家の間で「ツナ缶」と呼ばれる、SEIKOを代表するスタイルのひとつになりました。

ムーブメントは、10振動（36000）ハイビート仕様Cal.6159Bを搭載。セイコーのフラッグシップモデルであるグランドセイコーにも搭載されていたブランドを代表する傑作ムーブメント。

ツールウォッチでありながら、とても良いコンディションを現存しております。ケースは打痕がわずかに確認できる程度で、プロポーションの良さを損ねていません。ベゼルの細かなエッジはオリジナルの通りに残っています。ブラックの色味はスレなどによりダメージが現れやすいですが、こちらも良い状態を保っています。ダイアルはパーフェクトです。ブラックの文字盤に目立った劣化は見られません。注目するべきポイントはルミナスです。素晴らしいベージュカラーでヴィンテージ妙味があります。

1960年代は、機械式腕時計は完成期とも言えるほどの発展を遂げた時期で、セイコーは精度コンクールの分野でも量産の分野でも、世界に追いつき、追いぬいた時代であった。同時に、「時計の電子化」が進展し、1969（昭和44）年12月にセイコーが世界初のクオーツ（水晶）腕時計を発売することにより、機械式腕時計からクオーツ腕時計へと大きく舵を切ろうとする時期でもあった。

COMMENT

This early model 600 diver lacks the "m" mark at the 6 o'clock position on the dial. While the large face size often catches the eye, the meticulous detailing and craftsmanship are hallmark features of this Japan-made timepiece. In the 1970s, it garnered attention as the world's first watch to use a titanium case. Today, it has become one of SEIKO's iconic styles, known among enthusiasts as the "Tuna Can." It is a must-have piece for advanced fashion connoisseurs to incorporate into their daily wear.

The movement features a 10-beat-per-second (36,000) high-beat Cal. 6159B, a masterpiece movement also used in Seiko's flagship Grand Seiko model, representing the pinnacle of the brand's engineering.

Despite being a tool watch, it remains in very good condition. The case shows only minor signs of wear and retains its excellent proportions. The fine edges of the bezel are preserved in their original state. While the black finish is prone to damage, it too remains in good condition. The dial is perfect, with no significant deterioration on the black face. The standout feature is the luminous markers, which have aged to a beautiful beige color, adding a vintage charm.

Developed by Tokunaga Ikio, renowned for his expertise in special watch development, this is considered the greatest masterpiece among domestic diver’s watches. The over-50mm face exudes a powerful presence. Enjoy this legendary model in practical use.
