目の覚めるようなパリッとした、サンバーストダイアルが美しいエアキング。バーインデックスは3面のファセットが美しいです。インデックスや針が幅狭なので、文字盤が通常より大きく感じます。ブレスレットはフォールデッドのオイスターブレスレット、エンドリンク60、クラスプデイトは71/3が付属します。

ケースは均整の取れたバランスで良いプロポーション。鏡面とヘアラインの境のエッジが立った良いケースです。ダイアルはパーフェクトです。針やインデックスは上面のメッキが剥がれなく、キラキラと光っています。ルミナスは程よく灼けたイエローカラーで、ヴィンテージ時計ならではの表情となっています。ブレスレットは伸びが少なく、装着感の良いものです。

“AIR-KING”はロレックスの中で数少ないモデル名のほかにペットネームが付けられた最初のモデルです。販売当時はカレンダーなど削れるところをすべて排除したモデルで安価なロレックスというイメージがありましたが、現在では当時のコンセプトが現代にマッチして再評価されているもモデルの一つです。 ロレックスなのにギラギラしない、シーンを選ばずに着用できる一本です。

The striking, crisp sunburst dial of this Air-King is truly captivating. The bar indexes feature beautifully faceted three-sided designs, and the narrow indexes and hands make the dial appear larger than usual. The bracelet is an original ROLEX three-link bracelet from the same era. Obtaining a genuine Rolex bracelet separately can be challenging, so having it included with the watch is a significant advantage.

As expected with a Rolex, the case has been refinished in the past, maintaining a well-balanced and proportionate appearance. The case edges are sharply defined, with a fine contrast between the polished and brushed finishes. The dial is perfect, with the hands and indexes retaining their plating and shining brilliantly. The luminous material has aged to a pleasing yellow color, adding a vintage charm. The bracelet shows minimal stretch, ensuring a comfortable fit.

The "AIR-KING" is one of the first Rolex models to be given a pet name in addition to its model name. When it was first sold, it was seen as an affordable Rolex due to its stripped-down features, like the absence of a date function.
