OMEGA Seamaster Ref.166.066 Big Yellow Linen Dial

COMMENT

Ref.166.066は1971年にCal.1002搭載のRef.166.092へ移行したため、製造期間が短く希少性の高いモデルです。

COMMENT

The Omega Seamaster Ref.166.066, nicknamed “Big Yellow,” is instantly recognizable for its striking yellow inner bezel and bold presence. A distinctive combination of vivid color and robust construction gives this model a unique standing among Seamasters. The sculpted C-line case, produced by EPSA (Ervin Piquerez S.A.)—renowned for its Super Compressor waterproof designs—features a floating movement structure similar to that of the IWC Yacht Club, ensuring excellent shock resistance. The case top displays a radiant brushed finish, complemented by a slim, flat bezel. The silver linen dial, with its refined woven-like texture, reflects light in complex, elegant patterns. Each index incorporates a black central line, enhancing legibility and adding a subtle depth to the dial.

The case retains its original proportions with sharp edges and a well-preserved profile, showing only light surface wear consistent with age. The linen dial remains in mint condition, free from discoloration or damage, while the hands and applied indexes retain their original brilliance. Even after half a century, the watch radiates a vivid, authentic presence. Fully overhauled by our company.

At its heart beats the Cal.565—one of Omega’s most accomplished automatic movements, celebrated for its quick-set date, durability, and superb finishing. Production of the Ref.166.066 was short-lived before its 1971 transition to the Cal.1002-equipped Ref.166.092, making this an especially rare reference. Combining innovative engineering with refined design, the Big Yellow stands as a testament to Omega’s relentless pursuit of technical and aesthetic excellence.
