LONGINES Sei-Tacche Cal.23M

COMMENT

COMMENT

The stainless-steel case by Sei-tacche, featuring smooth lugs, represents one of the most admired designs among Longines models. The dial is composed of luminous-painted Arabic numerals that convey a refined military aesthetic. The blued steel hands with luminous inserts are an uncommon feature for the era, adding both character and functionality. A finely detailed chapter ring encircles the outer edge, providing precise time reading. The watch is powered by the Cal.23M, a movement renowned for its superior finishing and accuracy—one of the most accomplished hand-wound calibers produced by Longines.

The case retains sharp edges along the stepped bezel and preserves its original proportions beautifully. The serial numbers on the caseback and the reverse of the lugs match, confirming its integrity. The white dial is in mint condition, free from cracks, while the luminous material has aged to a warm beige tone, enhancing the watch’s vintage character. The blued steel hands maintain a vivid hue, creating a striking contrast against the aged lume. Fully serviced by our watchmakers.

Based on the serial number 643++++, production is estimated to date from the early 1940s—a period regarded as Longines’ golden era for precision and waterproof engineering. With a white dial and luminous finish, it's rare to find one in such excellent condition.This piece embodies the brand’s technical mastery of the time, combining the tactile appeal of its steel case with the graceful patina of its aged luminous paint. A watch of enduring charm and reliability, equally suitable for daily wear.
