OMEGA Constellation Ref.168.064 18KYG

COMMENT

BRAND

HIGHLIGHT

Onyx Index,   Solid Gold

COMMENT

This 18k solid gold Constellation stands out as a high-end specification within the model lineup. Luxurious details such as onyx-set indices, a solid gold dial, and case showcase intricate craftsmanship not only in material but also in features like the beveled bezel and lugs. Symbolizing these features, a medallion resembling a celestial observatory at 6 o'clock position and on the case back proudly shines.

A clear hallmark is present on the back of the lug in the upper right, showing no signs of wear and featuring well-defined beveled edges. The dial is in beautiful condition, reflecting a rainbow-like iridescence when exposed to light. There is no cloudiness on the hands or indices.

Born in an era where "precision is the absolute value," this timepiece is a pinnacle of excellence.

It houses the second-generation automatic movement, Caliber 551. Movements from the 550 series onwards aimed to eliminate unnecessary elements, resulting in a sleek and refined mechanism. This reduction in design constraints allowed for a more stylish face. The watch is designed for everyday usability, and our shop has confidence in providing maintenance for this timepiece.

The efficiency of automatic winding in Omega's movements from this era often renders manual winding unnecessary. The original Constellation crown prioritizes design, and while it might feel somewhat challenging to wind manually, it adheres to the original specifications and presents no issues.
