COMMENT

ツーカウンターのCYMAクロノグラフ。フラットベゼルにシリンダーケース、すっと伸びるカラトラバラグを組み合わせた、1940年代らしい端正な造形です。ブラックのギルトダイヤルは、外周からタキメーター、テレメーター、0.2秒刻みのチャプターリングを重ねた多層構成。ブランドロゴを除き、インダイアルの目盛りに至るまで抜き文字で仕上げられ、艶のあるブラックとのコントラストが際立ちます。ルミナス入りのアラビアインデックスも時代性を感じさせる要素です。

ケースには打痕やスレが見られますが、全体のプロポーションは良好に保たれています。ダイヤルはミラーの艶を維持し、目立つ傷や強いエイジングは確認できません。時分針には年式相応の変化が見られる一方、インデックスに顕著な黒焼けはなく、視認性は良好です。年代を踏まえると整ったコンディションです。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

搭載ムーブメントはValjoux 22。手巻きの操作感は軽快で、クロノグラフ機能も正常に作動します。36mmというサイズはクラシッククロノグラフの王道とも言えるバランスで、過度な主張に頼らず雰囲気で魅せる一本です。意匠、機構、コンディションの三拍子が揃った、評価軸の多い個体と言えるでしょう。

COMMENT

A two-register CYMA chronograph embodying the refined design language of the 1940s. The flat bezel, cylindrical case, and elegantly extended Calatrava-style lugs form a poised and balanced silhouette. The black gilt dial is constructed in layered fashion, featuring an outer tachymeter scale, telemeter scale, and a 1/5-second chapter ring. With the exception of the brand signature, even the sub-dial markings are executed in gilt print, creating striking contrast against the glossy black surface. Luminous Arabic numerals further reinforce its period character.

The case shows signs of wear, including minor dents and surface marks, yet the overall proportions remain well preserved. The dial retains its mirror-like gloss, with no prominent scratches or heavy aging visible. While the hour and minute hands display changes consistent with age, the indexes show no significant darkening, and legibility remains strong. Considering its era, it presents in well-balanced condition. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Powered by the Valjoux 22, the manual-winding action is smooth, and the chronograph functions operate correctly. The 36mm case size represents a classic chronograph proportion, offering presence without excess. With its harmony of design, mechanics, and condition, this example stands as a particularly compelling and well-rounded piece.
