1970年代に製造されたセイコー 5スポーツ スピードタイマー Ref.6138-0030、通称「カクメ」です。上下に配された角型インダイヤルが四角い目を思わせることから、「角目」の愛称で親しまれています。本個体は、シャンパンカラーのダイヤルにブラックのインダイヤルを組み合わせた国内向け仕様。鮮やかなオレンジの外周リングとクロノグラフ秒針、ブラックのタキメーターベゼルが強いコントラストを生み、1970年代らしいスポーティーな表情に仕上げられています。3時位置には日本語・英語切り替え式のデイデイト表示を備えています。

ケースには使用に伴う細かな傷が見られ、裏蓋にも擦り傷がありますが、ケースからラグへ続く力強い輪郭と多面的な造形は良好に保たれています。ブラックのタキメーターベゼルは軽微な経年こそ見られるものの、目立つ欠損はなく、数字や目盛りも明瞭です。ダイヤルはシャンパンカラーの質感を美しく残し、ブラックとオレンジの各部にも目立つ変色は見られません。針、インデックス、夜光には自然な経年変化が現れています。ブレスレットは国内向けモデルに対応する純正品で、エンドリンクには「XGA」「261」の刻印が確認できます。ケースとの一体感を生む専用形状であり、現存していること自体が大切なポイントです。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

ムーブメントは21石の自動巻クロノグラフCal.6138Bを搭載。毎時21,600振動で、手巻き機構も備えています。クロノグラフにはコラムホイールと垂直クラッチを採用し、12時位置に12時間積算計、6時位置に30分積算計を配置した、本格的な一体型クロノグラフムーブメントです。 シャンパンダイヤルに黒い「角目」、オレンジのアクセント、そして専用ブレスレットまで揃った本個体は、カクメならではの造形と、機械式クロノグラフが大きく発展した時代の技術を同時に味わえる一本です。

Produced in the 1970s, this Seiko 5 Sports Speed-Timer Ref.6138-0030 is commonly known as the “Kakume.” The nickname, meaning “square eyes,” refers to the rectangular subdials arranged vertically on the dial. This example is a Japanese-market version, combining a champagne-colored dial with black subdials. A vivid orange outer ring and central chronograph seconds hand contrast sharply with the black tachymeter bezel, giving the watch a distinctly sporting character typical of the period. A bilingual Japanese-English day-date display is positioned at 3 o’clock.

The case shows fine scratches from use, with further surface marks visible on the case back, though the strong contours and multifaceted form extending into the lugs remain well preserved. The black tachymeter bezel displays minor aging but no notable losses, and its numerals and scale remain clear. The champagne dial retains its attractive texture, while the black and orange elements show no significant discoloration. The hands, indexes, and luminous material display natural aging. The original bracelet is the correct version for this Japanese-market model, with “XGA” and “261” stamped on the end links. Its fitted construction integrates closely with the case, and its presence is an important detail. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

Inside is the 21-jewel automatic chronograph Cal.6138B, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and also offering manual winding. Its integrated chronograph mechanism uses a column wheel and vertical clutch, with a 12-hour register at 12 o’clock and a 30-minute register at 6 o’clock. With its champagne dial, black square subdials, vivid orange accents, and correct fitted bracelet, this example brings together the distinctive appearance of the Kakume with the technical character of a period in which the mechanical chronograph was undergoing significant development.
