COMMENT

1960年代後半のオメガを代表するクロノメーター、コンステレーションです。Cラインケースと呼ばれる、ケースからラグへ一体感をもってつながる独特の造形が特徴。18Kホワイトゴールドのケースは、柔らかな曲線とシャープな面の切り替えが美しく、シルバーダイヤルの落ち着いた表情とよく調和しています。ダイヤルには繊細なリネン仕上げを施し、立体的なバーインデックスと針を配置。3時位置には拡大レンズ付きのデイト表示を備えています。ムーブメントは自動巻きCal.564を搭載。日付表示とクロノメーター規格を備えた、実用性の高いキャリバーです。リューズを二段引くと日付をクイックチェンジできます。

ケースは細かな使用傷が見られますが、全体のフォルムはよく保たれています。Cライン特有のふくらみを持つケースからラグへ続く輪郭も明瞭で、各面の仕上げがしっかりと残っています。シルバーダイヤルはリネン特有の織り目のような質感が均一に広がり、インデックスやプリントは鮮明です。針とインデックスの夜光は穏やかな経年変化が見られますが、ダイヤル全体の印象を損なわず、ヴィンテージらしい落ち着きを添えています。裏蓋の天文台メダリオンはきれいに残っています。弊社にて分解掃除済みです。

イエローゴールド仕様が多く見られる一方、18Kホワイトゴールドのコンステレーションは流通例が限られる素材違いです。Ref.168.009 / 168.017のホワイトゴールド仕様は、同型のイエローゴールドに比べて少数とされています。Cラインケースの立体的な造形に、ホワイトゴールドならではの控えめな光沢が重なり、華やかさを抑えた端正な佇まいに仕上がっています。クロノメーターとしての機能性に、リネンダイヤルの豊かな質感が加わった、1960年代のコンステレーションらしい魅力を楽しめる一本です。

COMMENT

This Omega Constellation is a chronometer representative of the late 1960s. Its distinctive C-shaped case integrates the case and lugs into a continuous profile. Crafted from 18K white gold, it combines gentle curves with sharply defined surfaces, complementing the restrained tone of the silver dial. The dial is finished with a fine linen texture and fitted with applied baton indexes and matching hands. A date display with a magnifying lens is positioned at 3 o’clock. Inside is the automatic Cal. 564, a practical chronometer-grade movement with a quick-set date function operated by pulling the crown to its second position.

The case shows minor scratches from use while retaining its overall form. The full contours of the C-shaped case and its transition into the lugs remain clearly defined, with the finishing across its various surfaces well preserved. The silver dial displays an even, woven texture characteristic of a linen finish, while the indexes and printing remain crisp. The lume on the hands and indexes shows gentle aging, adding a subdued vintage character without detracting from the dial’s overall appearance. The observatory medallion on the case back also remains in excellent condition. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.

While yellow gold examples are more commonly encountered, the 18K white gold Constellation represents a less frequently seen variation. White gold versions of Ref. 168.009 / 168.017 are generally considered to have been produced in smaller numbers than their yellow gold counterparts. The restrained sheen of white gold complements the sculptural C-shaped case, lending the watch a clean and composed presence. Combined with the practical chronometer movement and richly textured linen dial, it offers a distinctive expression of the late-1960s Constellation.
