COMMENT
Jaeger-LeCoultre “VOGUE” Ref.9043 21 pairs a vertically elongated rectangular case with a deep blue dial, articulated by crisp white Roman numerals and elegant leaf hands. Housed in an 18K yellow gold case, it is powered by the slim hand-wound Cal.818/2. The proportions strike a refined balance between straight lines and softened curves, allowing the watch to maintain presence without excess.
The case shows light signs of wear yet retains sharp edges and full proportions, free from noticeable thinning. The planes remain well defined, and the transitions catch the light cleanly. The dial presents an even tone without haze or patchiness, and the printed elements retain strong contrast. The hands remain clear, with minimal oxidation. Fully serviced by our watchmaker.
During this period, Jaeger-LeCoultre pursued movement thinness and case design with equal intensity. The assertive Roman numerals contrast beautifully with the calm depth of the blue dial, creating an intellectual character unique to rectangular watches. It sits neatly beneath a cuff, maintaining composure while subtly signaling quality.
BRAND
Jaeger-LeCoultre is a true manufacture known for producing a wide range of distinctive timepieces. Historically, the company supplied ébauches and components to other leading maisons such as Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Cartier. Founded in 1833 in a small Swiss workshop, the brand grew on the principle of “standing on science,” developing reliable mechanisms and advanced production systems that positioned it at the forefront of Swiss horology. With emblematic in-house creations such as the Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre remains one of the few manufacturers to design and produce its own movements entirely in-house.
