オメガのレジェンド、スピードマスターRef.105.012です。NASAの正式採用となり、「PROFESSIONAL」の名が文字盤に登場しています。前世代であるRef.105.003からのアップグレードは、竜頭ガードのためケースが左右非対称に、ラグがツイストしたデザインになりました。搭載ムーブメントのCal.321は後のCal.861のカム式と違い、ピラーホイール式のため、コスト高で、チラネジテンプに巻き上げヒゲと高級仕様。

白いアクセント付きのブラックダイヤルは、優れたコントラストをサプライ。30分、12時間、スモールセコンドのサブダイヤルの組み合わせ、2重構造のケースバック、42mmケースなど、伝説のムーンウォッチは完全な当時のディテールを持っています。ケースはHuguenin Freres製。貴重な1039キャタピラブレスを装備しています。アーカイブが付属します。

数あるRef.105.012の中でも飛び抜けて良好なコンディションです。ケースはわずかな擦れ傷のみで、完璧なプロポーションです。ベゼルは部分的にグレーにフェード化したエイジングがカッコいいです。剥がれがここまで少ない個体は稀有です。キャタピラブレスは適度な使用感です。ダイヤルや針は劣化や傷のないパーフェクトな状態。アプライドのロゴは綺麗な鏡面反射を見せています。濃いめのベージュに焼けたトリチウムは均一で、稀に見る美しいエイジングです。ビデオを掲載しています。

実用としては、もちろん理想的な高級時計であり、時計コレクションの世界でも、オメガのスピードマスターは優れたタイムピースです。

今でこそ「Speedmasterイコール宇宙」という図式がすぐに浮かび上がりますが、当時は宇宙とは全く関係のない、純粋なモータースポーツ用の時計として誕生。また、スピードマスターは、ダイヤルではなく外周ベゼルにタキメーターを表示した世界で初めての時計と言われています。1959年、スピードマスターはマイナーチェンジをします。ベゼルがアルミニウムの黒色ベースとなり、針の形状がアロー針からアルファ針に変更されたことで、より視認性が高まっています。NASAは宇宙での過酷な環境にも耐えうる丈夫なクロノグラフを探しており、名だたる強豪に勝ったスピードマスターを公式時計として採用。その後1969年人類初の月面着陸の際、スピードマスターを着用していたことは有名な話。

Here we have the legendary Omega Speedmaster Ref.105.012. Officially adopted by NASA, it proudly bears the designation "PROFESSIONAL" on its dial. Upgraded from its predecessor, the Ref.105.003, the addition of crown guards resulted in an asymmetrical case and twisted lugs. The movement housed inside, the Cal.321, differs from the later Cal.861 with its pillar-wheel design, making it costly and luxurious with its winding whiskers and high-end specifications.

The black dial with white accents offers excellent contrast. Featuring sub-dials for 30 minutes, 12 hours, and small seconds, along with a dual-layer case back and a 42mm case, this legendary Moonwatch boasts all the authentic details of its time. The case is made by Huguenin Freres, and it comes equipped with the rare 1039 "Caterpillar" bracelet. Archive papers are included.

Among the many Ref.105.012 models, this one stands out for its exceptional condition. The case shows only minor abrasions, maintaining its perfect proportions. The partially faded gray aging on the bezel adds character. Instances with such minimal wear are rare. The Caterpillar bracelet shows moderate signs of use. The dial and hands are in a perfect state without any deterioration or scratches. The applied logo exhibits a beautiful mirror-like reflection. The evenly aged tritium has taken on a pleasing beige hue, presenting a rare and beautiful aging. A video showcasing the watch is available.

While today, the equation "Speedmaster equals space" is immediately evoked, initially, it had nothing to do with space but was born as a pure motorsports watch. Additionally, the Speedmaster is said to be the first watch in the world to display a tachymeter on the outer bezel rather than the dial. In 1959, the Speedmaster underwent a minor change, with the bezel transitioning to a black aluminum base, and the hands changing from arrow-shaped to alpha-shaped, enhancing visibility. NASA was seeking a robust chronograph capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of space and chose the Speedmaster, which emerged victorious over its formidable competitors, as its official timepiece. It's a well-known fact that the Speedmaster was worn during humanity's first moon landing in 1969.
