Porsche Design By IWC OCEAN 2000 Ref.3500

COMMENT

ポルシェグループのF.A.ポルシェ率いるポルシェデザインがIWC社と連携して製造したダイバーズウォッチ、オーシャン2000。その名の通り、当時2000mの耐水性を備えた世界初の腕時計でした。

1982年から1998年まで製造された時計ですが、こちらは初期型で、IWCのロゴがダイヤルに入らないタイプです。オールブラックの意匠に、レーザーのような赤い秒針が読時のしやすさを極限まで高めています。ケースは当時としては先進的なチタンを採用し、非腐食性、耐磁性、低アレルギー性に優れる上に軽量化を実現しています。ベゼルは反時計回りにのみ回転し、回す前にベゼルを押し下げる必要があります。これは、ダイビング中に誤ってベゼルを動かしてしまうことを防ぐ実用的な安全策です。また、竜頭はIWC初となるねじ込み式を採用しています。ブレスレットは最初期のジオメトリ1です。

ケースにはわずかな小傷こそ見られますが、当時の雰囲気をよく残した良いコンディションです。ダイヤルはミントコンディションです。ベゼルとダイヤルのルミナスは素晴らしいベージュカラーを見せています。ジオメトリ1ブレスレットはピンの摩耗により、バックルが勝手に開いてしまう個体が多く見られますが、こちらは当時のままを保った希少なコンディションです。弊社にて分解掃除後、46時間以上のパワーリザーブを確認しています。

この時計は従来の時計職人による設計ではなく、ポルシェ911やステーショナリー、アパレルやタワーマンションなど多岐にわたるデザインを手がけてきたF.A.ポルシェがデザイナーを務めました。このモデルは西ドイツ海軍にも官給された経歴を持つダイバーズウォッチとしても有名で、近未来的なデザインが独自の人気博しています。

The Porsche Design Ocean 2000 diver's watch, manufactured in collaboration between Porsche Design led by F.A. Porsche of the Porsche Group and IWC, was the world's first wristwatch with a water resistance of 2000 meters, as its name suggests.

Produced from 1982 to 1998, this is an early model where the IWC logo is not present on the dial. The all-black design, complemented by a laser-like red second hand, enhances readability to the maximum. The case, made of advanced titanium for that time, boasts non-corrosiveness, anti-magnetism, low allergy properties, and lightweight. The bezel rotates only counterclockwise, requiring a push down before turning, a practical safety measure to prevent accidental movement during diving. Additionally, it features IWC's first screw-down crown. The bracelet is the early Geometrie 1.

While there are minor scratches on the case, it's in good condition, preserving the atmosphere of that time. The dial is in mint condition. The luminous material on the bezel and dial displays a fantastic beige color. The Geometrie 1 bracelet often exhibits pin wear issues, causing the buckle to open unintentionally, but this piece retains its original condition, a rarity. After disassembly and cleaning by our company, it has been confirmed to have a power reserve of over 46 hours.

This watch wasn't designed by traditional watchmakers but by F.A. Porsche, known for designing the iconic Porsche 911 and various other designs ranging from stationary to apparel and skyscrapers. This model is also renowned as a diver's watch supplied to the West German Navy, earning popularity for its futuristic design and unique appeal.
