ダイヤルはシルバーのサンレイ仕上げで、インデックスは3面のファセットにより構成され、上面には鏡面仕上げが施されています。針はドーフィン型で、上面のフラットな面がクラシカルな印象を与えます。ノンデイト仕様のため、すっきりとしたシンメトリーなフェイスバランスが魅力です。搭載されているキャリバーはハック機能付きのCal.44Aで、実用性の高い手巻きムーブメントとして知られています。

ケースは使用傷が最小のコンデションです。ラグの面取りがしっかり残っており、角度をつけるとファセットが輝きます。ダイヤルはエイジングの跡が最小の状態。フラットな針の上面は未だに鏡のような状態を保っています。インデックスは少々くすみは見られますが、光を反射する美しい状態を維持しています。弊社にて分解清掃済みです。

COMMENT

The dial features a silver sunray finish, with indexes composed of three-faceted markers, each topped with a mirror-polished surface. The hands are in a classic dauphine style, with flat upper surfaces that enhance the traditional aesthetic. The no-date configuration ensures a clean and symmetrical dial layout, contributing to its refined visual balance. Powering the watch is the Caliber 44A, a manual-wind movement with hacking function, renowned for its practicality and reliability.

The case remains in well-preserved condition, with the beveled edges on the lugs still sharply defined—catching the light beautifully at various angles. The dial shows minimal aging, and the flat surfaces of the hands retain a mirror-like finish. While the indexes show slight patina, their multifaceted construction allows them to reflect light elegantly. The watch has been fully disassembled and cleaned by our workshop.

This is the second-generation King Seiko, Ref. 44-9990, introduced in 1967. The design exemplifies the pared-back elegance that defines the King Seiko line. With an understated refinement rooted in Japanese aesthetics, this piece radiates timeless beauty and continues to shine across generations.

King Seiko was first developed in August 1961 at the Kameido-based Daini Seikosha (Second Seiko Factory) as a high-grade wristwatch positioned just below the Grand Seiko. It remains an indispensable part of Seiko’s watchmaking heritage and a true classic among vintage Japanese timepieces.
