UNIVERSAL GENEVE Ref.866142 NEW OLD STOCK

COMMENT

Power reserve：48 Hour
Amplitude：265
Daily rate：+16 Second

COMMENT

This UNIVERSAL GENEVE features a jumbo-sized square case, combining bold dimensions with an impressively slim profile. The stepped bezel exemplifies the brand’s exceptional craftsmanship, creating a subtle yet sophisticated detail. The dial boasts a silver sunburst finish, radiating an elegant and refined shimmer. Simple bar indices adorn the face, with the brand's logo and mark printed at 6 and 12 o’clock. Black-printed hands contrast against the silver dial, enhancing legibility while maintaining understated elegance.

The case retains its original, unpolished condition, showcasing sharp edges and remarkable preservation. Virtually free of scratches, it is in excellent shape. The silver dial remains untouched by aging, retaining its pristine luster. The black-printed hands are intact without any peeling, and the indices are free of tarnish, maintaining their flawless appearance.

In the realm of vintage watches, pieces in such exceptional condition are often preserved without overhauls to retain their original integrity. Servicing a vintage watch can sometimes compromise its painted or finished components during disassembly and reassembly. For this reason, we have opted not to perform any servicing, leaving the decision to the next owner. To ensure operational accuracy, we have conducted the following tests, with results presented as reference values:

• Power Reserve: 48 Hours
• Amplitude: 265°
• Daily Rate: +16 Seconds

While the square case projects a bold and sizable presence, the compact placement of the hands and indices offers a clean, understated appearance when worn. Despite being an automatic watch, its slim construction highlights the advanced engineering prowess of Universal Genève, underscoring the brand's reputation for excellence.

BRAND

The history of Universal Genève began in 1894, when two watchmakers, Émile Décoppet and Georges Perret, founded the company in Switzerland. Renowned for its luxurious design watches and mastery of complicated movements, the brand earned its place in horological history with the development of iconic chronographs such as the "Compax" series.
