セイコースピードタイマー6139は、世界で最初に製造された自動巻きクロノグラフウォッチの1つです。Speedtimer 6139には多くのケースバリエーションがあり、この個体のタイプは重厚なCラインが特徴です。

ケースには小傷が見られますが、ラグの有機的な曲線やカッティングはオリジナルの通りに残っています。ガラスも含めて傷が無く綺麗です。ダイヤルはエイジングが見られず当時の美しいままを保っており、気になる汚れやダメージが見られず、良いコンディションです。

搭載されているCal.6139Aは当時では先進性のあった垂直クラッチ、コラムホイールを採用したキャリバーで、日本の技術力の高さを示しています。リューズのプッシュによる、日付、曜日、言語の切り替えが非常に画期的です。通称“61クロノ”と呼ばれる諏訪精工舎製の国産時計初となる名作自動巻きクロノグラフ時計です。

The Seiko Speedtimer 6139 is among the world’s first automatic chronograph wristwatches ever produced. Within the Speedtimer 6139 family, a variety of case styles were introduced—this particular example is distinguished by its bold and weighty C-line case profile.

While minor surface marks are present on the case, the original sculptural curves and edges of the lugs remain intact. The crystal is free from scratches and exceptionally clean. The dial shows no signs of aging and retains its original beauty, with no noticeable blemishes or damage—overall, it is in excellent condition.

Powering the watch is the Cal. 6139B, a movement notable for its use of a vertical clutch and column wheel—cutting-edge technologies at the time that underscore Japan’s technical sophistication. The quick-set functions for date, day, and bilingual display, operated via a push of the crown, were highly innovative. Known colloquially as the “61 Chrono,” this movement was developed by Suwa Seikosha and stands as Japan’s first mass-produced automatic chronograph—a true milestone in domestic watchmaking history.
