CARTIER LM SANTOS OCTAGON Ref.187902 with BOX

COMMENT

COMMENT

The Santos is an iconic Cartier design, characterized by its screw-adorned bracelet and bezel. The use of screws in jewelry dates back to the 1970s with Cartier’s "LOVE Collection." The Santos Octagon, featuring a distinctive octagonal bezel, is a discontinued model, making it a true vintage classic. The dial is a soft ivory with a matte texture, exuding a refined, classic charm. The combination of a minute track, Roman numerals, and circular lines enhances its elegance. The blue steel baton hands match the cabochon-set crown, providing a striking accent color.

The case and bracelet are in excellent condition, with minimal signs of wear. The polished facets sparkle brilliantly in the light. The dial remains in mint condition, with no visible signs of aging or deterioration. The blue steel hands retain their deep, rich color.

The LM-sized Santos Octagon has become increasingly difficult to find in recent years, making this a rare opportunity. The flat-cut bracelet reflects sunlight beautifully, resembling a high-quality bangle. With a quartz movement and a date function, this timepiece offers both style and everyday practicality.

In the early 1900s, aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont commissioned Cartier to create a watch that he could check while flying, giving birth to the Santos. Among the various models, the octagonal Santos Octagon stands out with its faceted bracelet, which shimmers with movement. While simple, it remains an elegant and sophisticated timepiece.
